Those 3 teams were calling him due to the Rooney rule.

At least three teams contacted him. The prevailing theory is that he'd be better as an NFL head coach than a college one, and his 'style' would be a better fit with professional athletes than college athletes.

Is this Opposite Day?

Are you sure?

I've shown your post history to the Board of Regents and I'm getting a groundswell of support. I've got a meeting set with Miles for tomorrow afternoon to discuss your potential hiring.

I think you should reconsider.

Well, it's best if I can get the details ($$$$) worked out first.

Obviously, we weren't talking Chavis money.

Let me see what I can do.

They're probably just trying to interview him to comply with the Rooney Rule and they're sick of interviewing and turning down the same 6 black head coaching candidates.

Eta - shite, didn't see Tyler's post

Miles is conspicuously quiet about his status and the NFL

Miles categorically will not consider any offers to head coach for the New England Patriots, the Atlanta Falcons or any other NFL team.

His heart is in Baton Rouge and he wants to retire there.

Aggies keep saying this but offer
Nothing to support it. Was he contacted? Or his agent? Which teams contacted him and when? Three teams in three days? Unlikely. Post a link or something. Otherwise didn't happen. And if so was there actual interest or the infamous 'feelers' that teams out out to their top 20 candidates? Sumlin is not the hot commodity that Aggies think he is.

agreed. My guess is that after A&M is near the bottom of the West again this year, the aggies will start to call for his head. This is year 4 and nothing to show for it but JM.

Fwiw, he also pulled his name from consideration for the new James Bond role.
