I doubt he would have said anything if there was actually interest. It isn’t like he is in front of the press everyday.

Two things about Stoops:
1) When he said he was retiring he was serious about it. He's not coming back
2) He was an overrated coach anyway. He couldn't get his team ready for the really big games and he coached in a weaker Big XII. He's a good coach for a program that is in shambles, but he wouldn't be getting a school like Auburn to the playoffs

I mean... in fairness, did 'they' screw up their recruiting class?
An unverified report from someone I've never heard of comes out, a website runs with it and here we are, less than 24 hours later.

It's just a stupid internet rumor. Happens every year. Maybe you recall a certain 'national championship winning coach' going to Texas a few years back...?
