Certainly 2 of the reasons - we should never have gotten that total beat down on 1/9 nor should we have lost the last 2 home games to AL

I'm very conflicted on the whole thing. I think a lot of what you're saying makes a lot of sense but this year the quality of coaches available I think is worse than in most years and LSU would be much more likey to downgrade than upgrade.

If Les could get over the QB development issue, we could easily go back to being the offense that we were in 05-07. I know - Jimbo and Saban's players - but Miles's first 3 years were killer teams. We could have easily won 3 straight SEC titles.

I wish there was a compromise with Les where he would agree to change his offensive mentality and stay at LSU. His history since '07 doesn't indicate a willingness to make changes and I wonder how many of the fans are willing to put up with year after year of brutal offenses.

That said, I feel like both LSU and Miles could use a re-birth. Sometimes you have to tear something down for the greater good

sorry Doc, I don't buy you have to tear down our football program "for the greater good". I find that kind of thinking bull shite.

Miles is aging and I do not foresee him getting better with age

he's younger than Saban. I don't think he's complacent I think he fricked up on QB selection.

I remember the utter incompetence of Mike Archer, Curley Hallman, and Gerry DiNardo while at LSU. I am not willing to give up what Miles brings us now for what some new HC MIGHT bring to LSU. I like going int every game knowing that LSU could well win it.

The very definition of average thinking. Accepting mediocrity = average. Enjoy your 3 or more losses per year as long as les is our coach. Forward thinkers are willing to take calculated risk to acheive at a high level. frick being average. That is all.

I think the fan base needs a coaching change more than anything.

and I know for a fact that the first game the new coach loses this same fan base will be wanting his head. and lamenting the loss of les miles. with some of our fans the grass is always greener elsewhere. it's like these "fans" see no warts on some of these other coaches and only see the warts on our coach. if I was in charge I wouldn't even listen to our fans; except of course the ones that donate lots of money.

You guys all recite the same tired statements. Like some kind of weird cult. First off look up the definitions of "mediocre" and "average". Nothing about Miles win/loss record is either.

Im a firm believer that college football is about 80% recruiting, and you can go 9-3 or 10-2 every year by just recruiting well

you absolutely positively could not be more wrong..example..mack brown and texas..

My fear: Miles is going to stay on and become LSU's version of Lloyd Carr. He'll be solid and win the games he should and be competitive in some of the ones he shouldn't, but the game will (and has started to) pass him by. At the end of every year, he'll have fielded a "solid" team, and we'll be looking back at 3 or 4 losses and saying, "but we were so close to beating so and so...". The LSU brass will keep him longer than they should because of past accomplishments and because he's an affable guy.
