ah, someone else who doesn't know the difference between a buyout if your fired vs a buyout if you voluntarily leave

His buyout dropped to 3 mill after last year.

Something that LSU would be more than willing to pay to Clemson if he decided to come here.
In contrast, if Dabo were to be fired, the school would owe HIM $47.5 million.
ETA Clemson won't fire him.

ON3 article
LSU coaching search begins with Jimbo Fisher
“The LSU [coaching search] is really interesting because even though Jimbo Fisher at Texas A&M had said he plans to remain on at A&M — and that kind of doused a lot of the speculation that Scott Woodward, the AD at LSU, would be able to hire him again,” explained Feldman. “Remember Woodward — when he was the AD at A&M — was able to pry Jimbo Fisher away from FSU.
“From what I’m hearing from people around LSU is that Scott Woodward is not giving up easily. And he feels like he may be able to pull Jimbo Fisher again even though the A&M people are like ‘no, that’s not happening.’ So we’ll see how that plays out.”
The possibility of stealing away Fisher seeming more and more difficult after his newest contract extension was signed earlier this year. If Woodward is not able to get his man, Feldman believes LSU insiders have begun to support bringing in another member of the SEC coaching tree. Michigan State’s Mel Tucker could be the man for the job.
“Mel Tucker is a guy that has obviously had a terrific year and done a really good job turning around Michigan State,” Feldman continued. “He’s a former LSU assistant, former Nick Saban assistant. He is very well thought of by a lot of people inside LSU, especially some really influential people.
“But ultimately this will be Scott Woodward’s hire. Can Jimbo Fisher really say no to him? We’ll see.”

Mel Tucker was the Defensive Backs Coach for LSU in 2000

Unfortunately, it very well could be Mel Tucker

I just don't see it unless he won out but then would he end up staying at MSU?

Mel Tucker really isn’t much more of a risk than Napier or even Aranda.
Personally I’d rather either of those two over him but coaching hires are a hell of a dice roll when you bring in a g5 coach or someone with only a year or two of experience as an HC

Yeah also not convinced he would want to be coaching at his third school in 4 years, especially when Sparty is going to be lined up to give him a raise to keep him.

As I understand it, Fisher has no buyout if he chooses to leave A&M.
Someone correct me if I’m wrong.

I don't think it would be a bad hire. More of a question mark hire. I think Aranda is less of a risk as you know for sure his defense is his own and he is a master of one side of the ball. Tucker was DC under Kirby and DB coach with Saban. Do we know for sure that he was truly/solely running that defense? I honestly don't know the answer to that question. Just something that concerns me with him. On the other hand Tucker is a better recruiter than Aranda so he has that in his favor.

He absolutely worked that portal. You probably right.
However, according to 247 and composite rankings.
Michigan St has the 46th/50th ranked class right now.
Baylor has the 41st/27th ranked class right now.
Aranda has a really talented 4 star QB committed. He is the 29th best rated QB while Michigan St has the 77th rated QB. The season prior Baylor only took 18 commits while Mich St had 22. They had nearly the exact same avg.
I wonder if more coaches will start to work the portal a little more.
Dabo has not taken a single transfer portal player in the past 2 seasons. I think if Dabo was to get the LSU job he really needs to change his stance on the portal.

Transfer portal because the roster is a total cluster up right now. May be worse than when Saban took over.

Not even close to believable.

1. Dabo, hope not, his star is currently sinking.
2. Riley. My favorite. Would have better shot for natties here than a SEC OU.
3. Tucker and Franklin. Not my top 5 but better than sharp stick in the eye.
4. Jimbo. LSU is better for Jimbo than aTm. Rumors may be from his camp. My #4 or 5 choice. But don’t think we will offer financials to him because his star is also lower.

Sounds like Rich Rod is the guy.
