And do we wait until AlleVA is gone before it occurs?

Yes. But my wish list would be:

Avery Johnson (he's a good coach that seems to be able to recruit and taking him from Bama would be awesome)

Kermit Davis

Alleva had a presser today. Said that he's hiring an agency to handle it, and he's in charge. They interviewed the towel boy today, and rumor is a press conference tomorrow to announce the new coach.

I swear this is literally the only qualification a coach needs to have for the rant to want to hire him. Pretty ridiculous and embarrassing.

I agree 100% seems like 1/2 the board views this as the set bar to aspire to be. Why not try to create our own standard, and expectations?

Melvin Watkins from Arkansas has been an assistant long enough. He needs his redemption shot.

If it's true Stans wants the job, Alleva will conduct an extensive 48-hour "national search" and conclude Stans was without question the only option for LSU basketball

You could pick any high school coach within 10 miles of the LSU assembly center and it would be an upgrade over JJ.

Honestly, I wouldn't mind giving rick Stansbury a shot at head coach here. He had some success at mississippi state, which we all know is not easy to do. He is off to a great start to building wku into a good basketball program too. I would be ok with him for sure. He recruits well too...at western kentucky this past cycle he landed a blue chip 5* recruit...with our resources and financial backing along with our recruiting base I believe he would do really well at lsu. Just a name to throw out there. If he does well at wku this season I wouldn't be surprised to see him in serious consideration.
