I love all these people hating on Dooley now but know absolutely nothing about him except his last name and his record.

Then tell us what makes him such a good coach and why he's ready to make UT competitive in the SEC. Because so far all I've got is that he's an awesome speaker, got a good last name, and is a decent recruiter. What did he do at Tech to beat teams he shouldn't have? What are the wins/upsets he pulled that he can hang his hat on?

He might be one day, but Dooley is in no way ready for a SEC job.

if you can make the La Tech nation believe in you, then you can do anything

Power offense, speedy defense type of coach.

ace recruiter? Meh

I thought he actually did well for La Tech. If he had been there for a few years I think La Tech may have become a major contender in the WAC.

La Tech was pretty bad before he got there and got them on the right track. He was getting the guys from Louisiana who had talent.

you mean he has a style he prefers, not his own offense or defense

no reason trying to reason with BilJ, he's far more knowledgeable about Dooley than us obviously and know exactly the in's and out's of Tennessee's program and exactly what they need or don't need.

Dooley's not it. BilJ says so.

how fricking stupid are you? How many times have I said "no one knows" whether he'll be a good or bad hire.

I'm simply challenging the people who can only give general reasons of why he's such a great coach. No one has been able to come up with much.

apparently blindly fricking stupid.

i mean why would Tennessee ever even consider hiring a guy like Dooley after being turned down by every available fricking coach on their list before him. I mean forget that his Dad was a legendary SEC coach, he was a great assistant and recruiter under Saban at LSU, and made great strides with literally a pile of dawg shite to build upon at LATech.

Ohh not to mention he's an oustanding person, family man, motivator, and leader of people.

All of which not legitimate reasons to even land a guy and interview....

kiffin obviously a better coach. :scoff:

why dont you just admit hes extremely unproven and a shaky hire at best for a program on the level of tennessee

Just from the little I've watched him and LaTech, they went from a spread/open offense to more of a Pro Style offense featuring P. Livas. He doesn't seem to run any "signature" offense or defense.

I think he's a good coach. I don't think he has proven enough yet to get the Tenn job, but he is a pretty decent coach from the little I've seen. I put this hire right up there with AU hiring Gene Chizic or Kansas hiring Turner Gill.

I'm not saying he's proven or will take to Tennessee to being a power house.

All I'm saying is why look down on Dooley, when they couldn't pull anyone else? Muschampe turned them down, Chucky wouldn't even consider it, UConn HC said no, fricking sorry arse Air Force's coach said no.....where else could they go?

If the AD wasnt such a moron they probably could have done a decent search and gotten a more qualified candidate.
