And I would say seven of your eight are longshots at best if Les leaves this year. In fact, I would say seven of them are impossible this year.

Les might be the secret B or C candidate, but I don't see any leaks yet from anyone who seems to know their shite.

What is the buyout and has it been signed or just agreed too?

Insert any name in the above sentence, and it works.

If Sean Payton wanted the job and LSU wanted him he would leave.

That was easy.

I agree cash, there are. I think the ones I named were the "hot commodities" that Universities were going to take a crack at first. There are always up and comers; its just finding them. The problem with the no name guy would be the initial hit to a stellar recruiting class.

I'm just saying his flirtation with Miami wouldn't affect LSU's situation.

ok, i honestly didn't know much about Brady Hoke. Just went and wiki'd him. Ok, nice resume so far, but not a long track record. Had one good year at Ball State and one good year at SDSU, albeit I think SDSU was absolutely dreadful when he got there 2 yrs ago.

If that is the best LSU can do then I really hope Le Smiles stays on and Crowton is replaced by someone with a pulse.

Good OC candidates are going to be at a premium with all the movement coming. Especially if UT doesn't hire from within.

In 2005 we got screwed with the timing more than this year. Urban Meyer and the ole ball coach had already been scooped up, even then Petrino was there for the taking.

I just don't see the same thing this year. I don't think any of the hires this year were guys who clearly would have been at the top of our list. (Mullen with his extension might qualify)

Who would clearly be at the top of our list? I have names I like but I'm not sure how many would be viable or homeruns.

I'm not sure anyone would be.

Which is why I don't think the timing of mid-December versus Jan. 10th doesn't make a huge difference this year, unlike in 2005.

You are probably right, same with Fisher, M. Lewis, T. Cable, etc. I'm just trying to point out that my "wish" list is not comical. Those names are all possible.

Also, to point out, I don't think Miles is going anywhere...Prom. obviously doesn't know that!

Disappointment because he wouldn't kiss Skip's ring.

And that is what people think is comical...that you believe those are all real possibilities to come to LSU if Les Miles left this year. Of course those are all great choices; just not realistic to be at LSU.

Maybe b/c he didn't want to go to UF. I don't know.

Easier path you're right. Loves TCU, eh, if another school throws 4 to 5 million at him, he might change is mind.

Probably right...

Appreciate it....

Doesn't mean the same thing for other schools...
