. Y'all act like I don't like this guy or something. I never said that. I just said he shouldn't be anyone's first choice if you're looking at this objectively

People keep ignoring this. Ull has made a point to stop taking easy pay days to get their arse beat. It’s great for the program and building a fan base but it’s not like Napier compares with some of the past big mid major names. Take hudspeth. He has multiple 9 win seasons. Take some of his P5 games off and he gets a few 10 win seasons

Take urban at Utah. They went undefeated and 4-0 vs P5 and 6-1 EV the power 5 in his years there.

Herman had more signature wins in his time at Houston than Napier has had at ULL. I believe the only p5 team they beat was ISU in the covid year.

Napier took over a program with 65 scholarship athlete.

So he would fit in perfect here.

One-game sample sizes are flawed logic (if you’re attempting to actually use logic).

What happens if you open it up to include another season? Yeah…he took a heavy underdog on the road and beat what turned out to a #9 Iowa State team.

Napier isn’t getting the job nor is he getting an offer. Not sure why people continue to make these threads

The G5 teams with good records are ranked to stop people from crying so much. They obviously are not one of the 25 best teams in the country. Would they be favored against anyone in the SEC besides Vandy?

2 game samples are flawed as well. Let's just go with he's 1-4 against the P5 and include his two loses to Mississippi State.

Sure. That’s even better. He’s not my first choice (or even in my first tier of choices) but what he’s proven is that he can absolutely coach, he almost never loses to teams that have less talent, and he can pull occasional wins even when severely out-gunned.

You think Riley or Aranda goes even 3-2 vs those P5 opponents—all on road—with the Cajuns roster?

This board says that as if this is some damning thing when in reality he inherited a sanctioned program in a bad situation, went to the title game the next year, had coastal chicken out of the title game the year after, and this year they're the heavy favorites to win it while going 12-1 on the year.

That means absolutely nothing! Now, with your statement, please add all other variables so as to better quantify whatever your point might be.

Translation; Who cares! Maybe he will one day be a great coach at a National power. It’s just won’t be here, lol.

So what makes him leaps and bounds better than coastal or app states HCs?

No, I really don't. But it's equally as ridiculous to think that his success with the G5 teams will equate to success in the SEC.

As I said, you can't have this argument both ways. If the players in the Sun Belt are so inferior that he has little chance against the P5, then his wins in the Sun Belt aren't as meaningful.

You realize that coaching—teaching football, managing a program, recruiting kids—is very similar, right? A G5 player has an astronomical leap to jump onto an SEC roster. A coach? That literally happens all the time to jump to P5.

All the idiotic ignorant Napier Derangement Syndromes get fully triggered when Napier is mentioned...

They truly believe they have some influence on the decision

Napier is and always will be a dam good football coach.
