As much crap as we give him, he deserved some payback.

How about we see the actual terms of a new deal before you begin throwing accusations and slitting your wrists.

How do you figure?

This IS an attractive position. LSU could very easily have wished Les good luck and moved on to the next hire.

No need to worry. 3 losses next year with a preseason top 5 team would put him right back on the hot seat

Wow, that sounds Alabama familiar

[quote]Its his alma mata calling at a time where this decision for better or for worse is his last coaching stop. He had to hear them out. By multiple reports I have seen the new contract does not up his salary, but gives him reassurances of support from an AD who did not hire him and was not around for his best years. It also ensures that he has more decision making power (which points towards truth on the rumors that the BOS wouldnt pay crowtons buy out last year). By no means did he hold LSU "hostage"[/quote

this.

how did he hold them hostage? he had to at least listen, he's not going to get another offer from them. I'd say if he went it was cause he wanted to coach there, not to win a title. you stay here to win a title. He's turned them down twice now for us and some folks still don't like them. he's passed on what in his own words is the 'dream job' does that not show his willingness and want to stay?

WTF are you talking about here?

Do you have some inside information on a new deal that was worked for miles?

What did he force LSU to give him by talking to Michigan? Please share!

Maybe we won't be so harsh on you if you can use some logic.

Until then...you are just being a douche bag drama queen.

I don't know the terms. I'm using common sense. He isn't going to take another deal that gives him less job security when he already has a high buyout. If he took a contract with a smaller buyout but more money, I'll eat crow. I highly doubt it though. Either way, the man was in a win win situation like Chicken said. Most top candidates either left, or signed extensions. LSU was backed in a corner on this one, especially with NSD a month away. Either the admin wasn't prepared for this or they made some phone calls and it wasn't looking good to get a top hire. They probably figured him leaving wasn't worth the risk, much like what happened after Saban.

To the OP,

Shut.

Frick.
Up.

Going around on every board you can find to listen to your dribble...and nobody's listening. When nobody's listening, STFU.

I agree with you on that. The lsu administration definitely had to feel kind of backed in a corner. Especially because of this monster recruiting class that's supposed to sign in 3 weeks. It would have been hard to find a solid coach and save this class at the same time. But I just dont believe that Miles took lsu by the balls and tried to screw us long term.

Early reports have been that he's not getting more money, just more control of the program. I got no sources.

nuff said...you don't know crap! There may be no new deal at all for all you know, or it could just be minor tweaking of his current deal...save your drama.

Man we are angry!

Deuce, I suppose if the run down Burger King was offering you $4.95/hour you wouldn't let successful McDonalds paying you $4.75/hour have a chance to match or you might consider the Burger King offer.

Just wanted to state it in your language.

That AD letter seems to really have pissed CLM off and he's right. The AD needs to keep some shite private
