So Les Miles held LSU hostage, as I said he would

Wow, not a huge Miles fan but I didn't want him to leave. This situation made me have even less respect for him. Having job security is one thing but getting a even bigger buyout? That means LSU is stuck with him no matter what. He played it perfect knowing we couldn't cherry pick a coach. This isn't a healthy deal for LSU any way you spin it.
You better produce some great seasons now Miles for a short memory. You never sign deals like this for a lot of reasons. What is scary is he can absolutely get lazy if he wanted to and LSU can't do a thing about it. He fricked our university from the inside out. I really have a lot less respect for this man now.

No need to worry. 3 losses next year with a preseason top 5 team would put him right back on the hot seat. New extension or not, Alleva wants to see improvement.

Its his alma mata calling at a time where this decision for better or for worse is his last coaching stop. He had to hear them out. By multiple reports I have seen the new contract does not up his salary, but gives him reassurances of support from an AD who did not hire him and was not around for his best years. It also ensures that he has more decision making power (which points towards truth on the rumors that the BOS wouldnt pay crowtons buy out last year). By no means did he hold LSU "hostage"

No, he held LSU hostage. If you can't see that, then YOU'RE the dumbass. I don't think you realize how big this is. How many coaches in NCAA have a buyout clause like Miles if he gets fired? I'd love to see them listed. The fact is LSU had no choice but to give him what he wanted and he played his cards perfect. LSU couldn't cherry pick what coach they wanted this late in the game, much less hang on to everyone in their recruiting class.
