I'm aware. Just mentioning it doesn't seem like they will get Harbaugh.

I really don't think that many big name coaches will be interested, especially given they want a Michigan Alum.

Max, quick stalking adam...if you don't have anything useful to add to the board, take a hike.

and... if they are willing to pay that much why not get a more "big time" HC.

how many years of rebuilding will it take to get them to be able to win again?

it's late to be changing college HC's anyway.

In addition, they were talking on ESPN radio about how recruits today don't care what's happened in the past. They don't care about the traditional programs just because they have tradition. I think it's a valid question to ask how hard will it be to recruit at Michigan before they start winning again?

Adamm stalks more than he is stalked. Just because he RAs 100 times a day doesn't make him some poor persecuted soul.

recruits care about:

playing time
getting to the NFL
winning championships

I think a solid coach can provide that at Michigan as has been done throughout CFB history . . .

not that hard.

michigan is a national power and a national name. you see them pull guys out of florida, arizona, california still. the biggest key is this hire and the momentum that it potentially can have.

As far as JH coming here, it's basically now or never. This job doesn't open up very often. If he truly wants to come here, he'd have to do it now. NFL jobs open up all the time.

There have been zero official leaks coming from the Athletic Department, not who is in, not who is out, not who is even being considered so, until Dave Brandon says who our new coach is, everyone is still in play.

exactly! They need to get some excitement back into the program. This hire has to be a homerun if they want to recruit well.

which is exactly why i posed the original question.

if you are willing to pony up 5M for harbaugh, why not something similar for another homerun?

I agree with you but like I said:

1. It's a little late now as they waited until after their bowl game to fire RR and alot of coaches won't leave because they feel it wouldn't be fair to their former teams.

2. They want a Michigan guy which limits their options.

'um', we hear that there may be issues between Harbaugh and some of the staff in the UM Athletic Dept. Specifically the Lloyd Carr supporters. Have you heard anything of this?
