So, Alleva really believes Orgeron will be a better coach than Herman or Fisher?

Because that is the only way you make this hire.

I don't want to hear about the money. A championship coach pays for himself over and over again. It is an investment.

Alleva has given up on LSU. So has the LSU admin. They now just want to squeeze out every dollar they can without spending anything on the product.

No they both didn't want the job so he settled for number 3.

Only if you want to pretend money wasn't also a factor

Alleva doesn't exactly have a history of great hires. He may actually believe that he made a good one.

He should be fired. He's lazy or incompetent or both.

He just wasted a 2 month head start to promote a Dline coach.

Are you stupid or something? Herman and Fisher said NO to us. We cannot outbid Texas and nor should we for Herman.

This is why he needs to be fired, you have a 30mil a year business and you were down to two choices, shameful.

so basically it had nothing to do with either jumbo not wanting to leave a very established program where he has control and his family or Herman wanting his dream job

I'll repeat this ad nauseam but there were other options not named Fisher, Herman, and especially not Ed Orgeron.

This "search" was any thing but.

Hard to hire someone who does not want to be hired. Fisher asked for a Saban contract in length, not money. Sean Payton withe the Saints has the longest contract in pro football & that is only 8 years. Fisher demanded 10. Money had absolutely nothing to do with it & the demand for $6.5M was not the problem. Herman just preferred UT from all accounts as it did not come down to a bidding war.
