Supply and demand. X amount of coaches lining up wanting the job, one job. Why would anyone back the brinks truck up or pay biggly when we it's not required because of everything amazing about this job. So just overpay for the sake of overpaying? Sounds like camp talk when the dick measuring starts.
Doesn’t matter about supply and demand in general… it’s the supply of coaches you actually want and what the demand is within that group …. So if your targets are kiffin Riley tomlin … not saying that is it just an example than they may demand high salary

The fact that Kiffin is pining for the LSU job is EXACTLY why I do not want him.
He's only in his 2nd year with OM, yet he's already looking elsewhere.
THAT is his history. He has United Van Lines on retainer. Everyone knows $$$$$ is older than dirt will have to call it quits. You think if the Bama job comes open that Kiffin won't bolt?
LSU needs to hire someone not known to always be looking over the horizon. We need a coach who wants to be at LSU and will be committed to a long-term career in BR.
Kiffin is not that guy. Except for a couple of seasons here and there, his teams are mediocre and he either leaves after a few short years or is shown the door.
If he wants to be OC, I'll take him. Otherwise, nah.

According to the posters on this site. every top tier coach is at the gate.

Both Ed and lane are morally corrupt people. No wonder they are close friends

If you're going to quote me, do the entire statement. if this is the amazing job that you believe it is, then LSU shouldn't have to overpay a coach.

I don’t understand what Kiffin has done recently to have “baggage” lol, sure there may be immaturity issues, but there is not baggage

He’s always been my first choice. Now he can keep O as an analyst to earn some of dat money.
Posted on 10/25/21 at 9:09 am to WHS
This is particularly ironic B/C of all the complaints about “O” and his personal behavior.

Wrong, winning trumps compliance unfortunately.
Kiffin is the only name that makes sense.
He’s a winner
Offensive Guru
Long term he’s the best candidate, I can’t see anyone fitting the role better.
He can handle the criticism, he can recruit to his o and d philosophy.
Most other candidates are short term and would have to adapt to the SEC and BR.
LSU now needs an established coach who can win and who sees this as a Career opportunity.
Not really my choice, but I can see how he is the best choice against all other possible coaches.
If Kiffin is courted he’s taking the job. It just makes sense.

Kiffin will probably never win a national championship at Ole Miss
In year 2 he has his team at one loss, ranked #10, with only loss to Bama. You can say 99% of coaches at 99% of schools “will probably never win a national championship.” This is one instance where you can’t be so confident in making that statement if you look at it objectively.
Hugh Freeze was a 4th and 25 play away from an SEC Championship at Ole Miss.
The difference between LSU and Ole Miss isn’t as great as it was say 10 years ago.

I really sincerely don’t mean to be disrespectful here…
Ole Miss (and Arkansas for that matter) have no chance in today’s CFB recruiting landscape to ever win a national title. It will never happen. I promise I’m not saying that to be mean or provoking, I’m just saying it’s actually not even possible. Technically possible?…sure. Realistically possible?…absolutely not.
Please don’t hate me

Not even close to being true

I’d personally love a Kiffin hire
Can i ask why? I posted this in another thread...im not really understanding why people absolutlely love Kiffin other than possibly the attitude.
so can you give me your thought process on Kiffin over someone like Napier?
Napier @ ULL >>>> than Kiffin @ FAU
Kiffin failed at USC, barely had UT with a winning record, went .500 at ole miss last year, never lost less than 3 games at FAU and had a losing season 33% of the time there.
This is Kiffins second season where he prolly loses 2 games or less. He also isnt some great recruiter like people make him out to be, atleast without O. Right now he is 10th in the conference, #6 in conference last year, his first season after being hired he was 12th.
I will give Kiffin credit, his team this year is 9th in the conference in team talent and obviously much better than that but its not like he has been killing in transfer portal either.
dont get me wrong I like Kiffin, but using past results when he has been at been programs...he has been mediocre. overall the up and down career screams extremely smart but not very detailed and organized.

Yeah you’re right. Any coach on the entire globe coming here will send Saban to retirement. He has clearly not shown an ability to be competitive with whomever and has clearly lost his edge in the past year. Lol Christ.
Their program loses a game, clearly not as strong as in years past, but Kiffin coming here will make him worry.
I’m pretty sure he doesn’t care about whatever we do. Maybe we should quit comparing anyone to this guy especially a guy that’s never won shite.
Urban Meyer is probably one that would get his attention, but that’s irrelevant since he’ll never come here.

Hell if hes showing hes desperate for the job, why would we pay him big. Just pay him his ole miss pay.
The obsession people have with how much a coach is paid is one of the silliest things about this.
"we" aren't paying anything.

Again what has he done to bring said attention?
His nose has been clean and he’s been winning

He would do well here, not my first pick but I wouldn't be mad
This kinda. I love/hate his outlandish conduct but I know some people, players and fans alike, respond well to it…he’s certainly not a boring coach. The potential optics, leaving Ole Miss after just 2 seasons, wouldn’t be great either IMO.
Posted on 10/25/21 at 11:52 am to sheeeeeit
Even if he's begging for it, we will still pay more than whatever OM is paying now. But I do agree that we should not make him a top-10 paid coach until we wins a natty.
