Should we expect to start hearing some assistants named today or after the games this week

Signing day is right around the corner. Many prospects want to know who their position coach will be.

I imagine after this weekend. Perhaps some prior, but let’s say for instance ND is no longer in the playoff hunt. The assistants there who “shunned” coming to LSU would probably be more likely to come. Gotta consider that where they are right now, losing Coach Kelly hurt their odds a little bit - however rallying to get a new head coach and retain all your assistant coaches will make it appear to the selection committee that they’re a contender. If games fall their way, they now have a shot. If coaches left with CBK there would have been no shot. I don’t think we’re done with coaches from ND until after the CFP final four

Have to give the staff members who are here now an opportunity to meet with BK. Wouldn’t be surprised to have a lot if not all staff answers by Monday.

Officially, this doesn’t affect playoff chances.

Unofficially, yeah probably.

I considered if ND was eliminated from playoff contention that might make a few of their coaches reconsider. The DC is now the head coach and the OC is a legacy that has family at ND so they obviously aren’t coming. I hope we see some movement in the coordinator positions sooner than later.

Actually - the selection Committee President said that personnel issues such as a coach leaving or a player being unavailable would come into play for the final four

Actually they can consider it. Gary Barta said this Tueday-

quote:

“Once the championship games wrap up, our protocol does include the ability for the committee to consider a player or a coach not being available. Should that have an effect on the outcome of a game, that can be considered. At this point, we’ll have to wait and see how that factors in.”

And ND announced MF HC Wednesday.. just a couple days after Sawbrick said they werent gonna rush the hire. Hmm makes you think

It would be nice to have coaches named asap, but you have to remember he's got to interview the coaches on the current staff, many of who are out recruiting, as well as interview anyone new he might want. It takes time, but I'd rather that than another Bo Pelini situation.

After early signing period IMO. It's in Kelley's best interest to keep the current staff on the hook and get them to prove their worth with this class.

You’re looking for scoop. There aren’t anymore insiders. Until some new ones come out of the woodwork that’s either on Kelly’s staff or around Woody we have no more insiders.it’s abundantly clear O’s minions have been run off and I pray Kelly is a better coach than to have to listen to a message board for advice.

All we really need is 2 or 3 starting with an OC and receivers coach

I imagine we start hearing the coaches being retained today/tomorrow and most of the ones being brought in early next week.

Nah no chance. Why would these kids sign to play for coaches that will be gone after they sign? Kelly isn't keeping more than 2 (at most) of these guys on staff. All these recruits know that the chance of these guys being here is slim to none. You get your coordinators in and start filling position coaches to preach the message that these are the guys that will be here.
