It means ND gets heavy favoritism due to brand and often are not deserving of their rankings.
But they have to win their way to the national title game.
quote:
It's fair to question his gameday ability seeing as just like BK he loses games he shouldn't.
That wasn't the knock on Kelly. It was that he didn't win games that he shouldn't. Freeman's already done that at ND.
quote:
The only thing he has over BK is he's young with potential to grow and isn't an a-hole like him so he's likable being a player's coach.
That's a pretty big deal.

Yeah I was less than impressed with Shea and their reporting during the last search. Not worth a subscription.

Another coach from Notre Damn would be an unpopular move to the majority of the fans in my opinion.
Shouldn’t give 2 shites what the fan base thinks….a Freeman hire would be a grand slam

how realistic is it that he would be interested
first question would be why leave ND?
Does he just want to play in more blockbuster games?
but I like Freeman, he seems like a very likable coach, it's time we found a professional who is well like by all

Agreed but why would he leave Notre Dame? He’s in a great spot to make the playoffs every year

Yes it's a big deal because LSU isn't a patient program. This isn't a program you putting training wheels on someone like Sloan to grow as a coach. You win immediately or you get shown the door. Can Freeman do that here and give you more than what BK has? Nobody can say that.
I do know that the SEC loves devouring good coaches. There's plenty of "good" coaches who likely would've been heavily successful outside the conference get fired as HCs all over. This conferences sates it's appetite on eating solid coaches. You are either at the top of the competitive totem pole or get shown the door. It's the best conference to be set for life but it's also the conference with the highest expectations.
Especially at LSU. I like Freeman personally but I'm very pessimistic on his ability come here and give you a consistent 10 win season. LSU will not wait around for him to get better as a young coach either.
Isn't he also from up North? That might explain why his wife wanted nothing to do with BR. That probably would come into play too. Then you have to wonder if Ohio State comes calling does he leave? Probably so where he started.

I actually think if Freeman goes anywhere it'll be the NFL unless Day goes first and open OSU up.

ND isn't going to lose Freeman to LSU.

Freeman is a non-starter, 100%. I am highly confident there is zero% chance he leaves ND.

Any of these guys would be better than a retiree more worried about his golf game than the team.

But Philly tiger told us definitely no drink
Posted on 11/13/25 at 3:53 pm to TDsngumbo
Kiffin comes to LSU and wins a Natty or even two before going to the NFL, failing and returning to coach at Florida where he gets 20 Nattys

Honestly, I feel that way about all paid site reporters. None of them are worth the money.

Like I said in the odds thread, it's going to be Drink.

Hiring Drinkwitz would put us in the Florida and Auburn purgatory for the next 5 years.

If they are floating this ship to see the reaction. They are not going to like what they get. This is not good news.

Right
Freeman is a good coach and is also young. He is still learning.
I'd be happy if Marcus freeman was the fallback to kiffin.

I'd be happy with him as backup, I just think there's no shot it happens. If Kiffin falls through, it's going to be Drink. There's not other option, especially that late in the cycle.
