Rumor is Orgeron is on top of their list if USC hires someone else.
They feel he could have impact securing the best Texas recruits and with louisiana ties be able to land a few from La.
This came from Austin but could be bullshite but it does sound good.

There is absolutely 0% chance that Texas will hire Orgeron.
Funny...there's something up today but the sources that I would trust on this haven't said that Mack is announcing. It might be something else.

just wanted to post to say that this rumor was that Mack was going to retire today, not tomorrow. The rumor was posted yesterday, which would mean that it would happen today. He was going to allegedly have his normal weekly press conference, then let the players answer questions, then come back out and retire.
That press conference is already over. He even said during the press conference, "we all want to be in the top 4 next year" in reference to the new playoff format. Mack isn't going anywhere unless they fire him.
