Petersen did indeed approach Woodward for the Washington job. Woodward was shocked and immediately did what was necessary to close the deal.

Unfortunately things aren't appearing so fortunate this go around.

The Huskies had gone 0–11 in Tyrone Willingham’s final season, and Woodward considered it a victory to get USC offensive coordinator Steve Sarkisian. How is pulling a well established HC from a school he hasn’t wanted to leave previously having him fall Into your lap?

Urban fell into Ohio States lap. You could argue Saban fell into Alabama’s.

But kudos to Woodward for getting right on that. I trust Scott to hire the right guy.
