I don’t fault Scott. He tried to get ahead of the curve.Those who said he shouldn’t have fired O w/o his guy in place don’t know how these things are done. Leave aside people use leverage to get what they want w/o telling you what they really want, levels of interest have to be gauged before you can get the signature on the line which is dotted . There are a million ways these things get off track. But it’s like Apollo 13. Now we will see what he is made of.

No it doesn't. That is directly in line with what the most likely situation is. Lincoln Riley was his guy and left us at the altar and now we're fricked because there wasn't a back up plan. We would have at least contacted Aranda and Napier if he wasn't super confident that he had his guy. It's too early to say the hire is definitely botched, but I'll be very surprised at this point if we get anybody better than Napier who 100% would have accepted damn near any salary in under 24 hours had Woodward actually called.

Rabalais had been going this for quite awhile, he’s well respected. Very seldom does he put his foot in his mouth like Glenn Guilbeau.
It’s not in turmoil, but I think they thought they had their guy with Riley. But I can understand not wanting to get into a bidding war with usc.

It really doesn't take hindsight. He was the only person Florida talked to for a reason. I'm very high on Napier in general and am not saying that he absolutely should have been number 1 and you're dumb if you disagree, but a "whale" was always going to be nearly impossible to actually come down with and he's clearly in the Campbell, Fickell, and Aranda tier who are the top realistically available coaches. If it's not Campbell or Fickell somehow Woodward fricked up bad.

Damn, it may not be today, it may not be tomorrow, but somewhere down the road after this disaster is done with, Woodward is going to have to be fired. He blew this when it should have been as simple as one call to hire Aranda. But his ego and stupidity will ultimately lead to the unemployment line,
