The former LSU coach was one of four finalists for the Cougars head coaching position, which ultimately went to in-house offensive coordinator Major Applewhite. He was also connected to the Baylor and Purdue openings, which have since been filled.

Most head coaching jobs around the nation are filling up with National Signing Day around the corner, and Miles is still without a job. There’s one company that’s reportedly interested in hiring him.

According to FootballScoop.com, ESPN is interested in having Miles join the network should he not get a coaching job.

Miles has said that he’s interested in coaching again, but has always been good for excellent sound bites during his 12 seasons at LSU.

I really don't get why people think he'll be good on tv, yes he did give the occasional good sound bite, but that was usually in between tons of senseless rambling.

He would be so awful on ESPN. The dude can't put coherent sentences together. You can't carry a college football show with sound bites and talking about how you enjoy things and how they have a want.

If Lou could make it work, I don't see why Les couldn't fit in. I feel like if he isn't trying to be guarded about info on his team, he might be a tiny bit more forthcoming.

Him or Steve Spurrier should replace Lee Corso on gameday.

would be hilarious to see this backfire on ESPN when they realize Les hasn't even mastered the English language yet

If you're trying to push liberal agenda by any means, why not get a guy who can't put together a coherent sentence?

The senseless rambling typically came in when asked a question that required generic "coach speak". When it comes to off-the-cuff shooting the shite, there aren't many more entertaining than Les. I think he'd be fantastic. And it's not like ESPN is overflowing with great, intelligent, thoughtful and eloquent analysts. He would practically instantly be their best College Football guy IMHO.

He wasn't very good as a guest analyst for Fox a few years back either

"Certainly Southern Cal has a very capable Quarterback, with a quality defense. I like the Trojans at home today with a want to win. I think they will Fight like Hell for Victory. Especially now that ____________ has returned to health, even though ___________ is being withheld from play."

The day Les was fired, I said he would end up on ESPN.

No one is asking him to be a play by play guy or anchor a show. But, Courso is getting really up there. Les could eat the grass of the team he picks to win. Les could also do a couple of shows a week on the SEC Network if he wanted to work that much.

I think he would top Holtz with his talk.
