But this is a stark contrast of the company line the media has stuck with in the previous few days of "No way Nick Saban leaves Alabama."

I must have missed that.

I'm still wondering about the rich eisen tweet last night

I wonder if it was solely off of the Fort Worth guy or if he heard something else

Really?

Before that infamous tweet last night (not saying that's what gave this rumor credence) no one in the mainstream even hinted at Saban possibly leaving.

Saban has had quite a few very large investments with Bama/BR guys go very sour. Real estate and bank stuff.

What is the bad debt that several people have posted about?

Some guy with Baton Rouge ties named Spinosa befriended him during his LSU days and suckered him into boondoggles with Perkins Rowe and a Houston apartment complex and now he apparently owes upwards of $26 million dollars on these.

Sounds like Saban is a shitty investor and he's blaming the University like a bitch.

Using this to squeeze every dollar out of Alabama! Saban will staty at Bama but is going to take them to the cleaners.

Choadie-It is well known here in Baton Rouge that Saban made a terrible investment in land called Perkins Rowe. That's just one of the few bad decisions he has made. Including the one second deal.

IMO he is holding out until Mack brown is officially gone. Out the heat on Bama for a huge contract/raise. If its close to the Texas one he stays.

This is Sexton code for "Texas, is that your final offer?"

I remember when he was "still deciding" on Miami and declined the job before he took it.

It's amazing how the song hasn't changed much.

Spinosa used Saban as a backing to get a bond to pay off all the contractors for the entire Perkins Rowe project. Only problem is, he didn't use the money for that. So a lot of the subs ended up writing off the work and lost out on hundreds of thousands of dollars' worth of work.

I'm guessing he did the same thing with the apartment complex in Houston.

All of the Alabama fans need to come eat & shop in Perkins Rowe when they come to the game in 2014

Like I said, sounds just like Alabama/Miami all over again. We're Miami this time. I'll say this for Saban, he is at least consistent in his upward trajectory of coaching jobs.

Texas>Alabama>Miami Dolphins>LSU>Michigan State
