Yea he would because he’s a terrible coach and unqualified to lead a big program and he knows it.
You might as well leave the Coaching Changes board open for the next couple years if Kiffin is the hire

My only problem with Kiffin is that he won't stay long. His track record proves that! I'll take Napier or Fickell.
This makes no sense. LSU is a destination job. If Kiffin were to come to LSU he would stay at LSU for at least 5 years. He would still be at USC if it weren't for his antics.
He was fired from Oakland because he was 32 years old and had never had head coach experience in his life. An absurd decision by Oakland.
Kiffin left Tennessee to coach at his dream school, USC.
He left Bama to become HC at FAU, he was at FAU 3 years before moving to Ole Miss.
The only true blemish on his resume is the Tennessee ordeal, and he left that for USC.
Now that his dream job as the USC coach is dead, I'm sure he'd take LSU.

What's the feedback from Riley and his camp since he seems to be Woodward's first choice?

That's totally your opinion. He has not shown yet that he will stay anywhere for more than a couple of years. His record proves that.

I don’t think he will be top 2 on the list and I don’t think he ends up being the guy, but if Woodward wants him, we get him.
How much do you think Woodward would have to offer him?

How much do you think Woodward would have to offer him for him not to care? He has a reputation. I don't think he moves unless the offer is similar to what Fisher/Smart got; and I don't think he should get paid that yet.

If Woodward opens the bank account for him. Which I don't think he will. Anything less than a Jimbo/Smart contract, he stays at Ole Miss.
He’d come if we offered the exact amount he’s making now. He knows he will never win a national championship at a podunk program like Ole Miss.

Many in the coaching ranks consider LSU a top 5 job in football not just college. I agree with Voltiger that Lane would drag his sack over broken glass to get this job.
Woodward is going to have a bunch of interest based on contract numbers he is throwing out.

If we offered Kiffin something over 10 million at year he would leave in a heartbeat. It’s that simple. frick manning day.

A small raise gets him here, even if Ole Miss matches and then some. We might have to counter with a little more, but you are completely missing the bigger picture. Money isn’t the issue and your lack of vision on this point is hilarious.
Ole Miss can never be a consistent power program in the world of NIL. They are a smaller school with a smaller alumni base in a state with less money and more competition. They are behind in terms of stadium size, facilities, you name it, and there is no way for them to ever catch up. They are what they are, just like State. There’s a reason that Tommy T bailed on them for a tougher job after he became a hero at OM for winning while they were under tough probation sanctions. That job has a hard ceiling.
I don’t think Kiffin would leave for just any P5 opening to get a raise, but this isn’t just any job and he knows it. This is one of a handful of jobs you jump on when they are available. It is superior to Ole Miss by every metric and measure available. I’m sure he sees that, even if you can’t.

I get all that, but it does come down to money. After all the back and forth in negotiations, Kiffin would probably end up a 6-7mil HC if he did come to LSU, on par with Fisher/Smart. I don't think he is a 6-7 mil HC right now, and I don't think Woodward would pay him that. He still needs time to prove himself, so he will be at Ole Miss for a couple of years.

I think Ole Miss is going to pay Kiffin $7 million to stay and I think he will.

You think one player would make Kiffin pass up the money and bigger program? Honest question, if his last name wasn’t Manning, would the hype be where it currently is?

Wrong
Belichick for DC, Sean Payton for OC

No, but if he gets Manning to Ole Miss, Ole Miss will open the bank to keep Kiffin there. Right now, Kiffin is not worth the money LSU would have to negotiate to pull him from Ole Miss.

Sure. Kiffin would win a NC at LSU. It’s a virtual certainty based on the last 3 coaches.
He will NEVeR win one at Ole Miss.

Kiffin has already actively campaigned for the job behind the scenes. If he doesn’t come here it will be because we told him no.
Posted on 10/24/21 at 12:30 pm to RollThePoint
Kiffin will be coming
