But Westwood v. Oxford
No comparison.

Not sure it’s a better job, but Lane has made a lot of comments about NIL, transfer portal, etc. I’m wondering if he’s got the same mindset as Riley. They might think the SEC recruiting meat grinder is too much.

USC fired Kiffin. I d think he would love a chance to stick it to USC. What better way than to coach UCLA

Riley at USC, and Kiffen at at UCLA? LOL, it would be the start of a new defense-optional PAC-12 South!

If he left Ole Miss, this would be the reason.

That would be a great hire for UCLA and the PAC12. Can you imagine Riley and Kiffin duking it out in recruiting in LA? I can't see Kiffin taking the job unless he has a commitment on paper that they are willing to build a NIL backing from their alumnus and spend on football. I would also enjoy watching the Old Misses scrabble to fill a HC job this late in the game.

It's not, but UCLA is in an amazing area and surrounded by talent and has a much easier schedule.
There are reasons to like it, especially for a West Coast guy. I could see Kiffin making them an 8-9 win team with occasional runs at the Pac12 and keeping that job until he retires.
He's certainly motivated to frick up USC as well.

For Lane Kiffin, it's not.
For Joey Freshwater, it's not even close.

That would be wild a late fire and hire. Ole miss would be in bad shape

Word is spreading that Chip may be fired and that Kiffin is the lead candidate. C
Makes sense. Baylor bashed his shite in and he probably knows he'll never recruit good enough long-term to really challenge Bama, Georgia, or LSU.
He's a gimmick coach with a gimmick offense. Perfect for the West Coast/PAC-12.

UCLA has a higher ceiling than OM.
If he likes city living there is no comparison.

Y’all really think Oxford has more snatch than greater Los Angeles?
Posted on 1/5/22 at 10:40 am to SOCAL TIGER
i would be surprised if he left the SEC which is going to be the only show in town to an irrelevant UCLA

Chip gets 1.5 million as long as he is not fired before January 15th. Ole Miss would be in trouble.
I can't see UCLA waiting to save 1.5million that's not exactly a ton in the grand scheme of things.

UCLA isn’t committed to playing football at that level.
Not at this time, but look at what Miami has done since Herbie embarrassed them on Gameday. They put up.
There’s no reason UCLA can’t do the same if they choose to do so. And for Lane, it would be access to great talent and a much easier path to the CFP at UCLA than at OM.
