Some of the names I've seen for HC scare the hell out of me. It is unknown how well they will be able to recruit. Spare me the LSU recruits itself nonsense. With Coach O, the most important factor is already known. He can recruit and he has annunciated that he is only as good as his coordinators.

Can you imagine what we could do if we could recruit???

Oh wait, we've done that for the past 12 years. How about we get someone who can gameplan against the best.

Les was a fine recruiter, you need more than that.

Saban has a lot more than jsut being an elite recruiter.

He is also a great defensive Xs and Os coach with a good coaching philosophy based around attention to detail and focusing on the doing the little things right.

If he wasn't a good coach he woudl still win, but not at the rate he is winning now.

Plus like some others have said. It would be great to be able to coach and get results out of our offensive recruits like we do our defensive ones.

Shite. It's like LSU will die on the vine if we don't give into Coach O. We won NC in 2003 and 2007 - and went 13-1 in 2011 with O coaching somewhere other than LSU.

You would be amazed at how an exciting productive offense that develops QBs can recruit itself.

we haven't recruited properly. Our DL and LB recruiting has been horrific and we paid for it. Our QB recruiting and development has been pretty horrible as well..... Paying for that.

OL recruiting/development is also very very questionable.

I agree about the game planning, but without the horses there isn't a game plan to beat Bama right now.

Great. Thanks for confirming that O. Now we know. Let's hire a great recruiting coordinator at a fraction of the cost to go along with our other coordinators and tell O:

Recruiting is the most important thing for a college coach, but people are grossly over rating this with Coach O. He's a great recruiter, but its not like there aren't other great recruiters out there.

Then why did Cutcliffe, Nutt, and Freeze all have better overall classes at Ole Miss than O did? I thought he was a master recruiter?

Ole Miss and Arkansas sure did enough to beat them. They just don't have the defense we do.

Nobody was complaining about the horses when we were breaking records running the ball. Now all of the sudden we have no horses. Not O's fault.

Let's give him credit for all of the success and blame someone else for all of the failures. Awesome.

I didn't expect to break any records against Bama obviously, but when you give them their lowest yardage total of the year when other teams with lesser talent have done better, there's a problem beyond talent.

This and the fact that it's LSU....it's hard to imagine that any college football atmosphere could be any better than Saturday's. Don't think that players don't respond to that kind of stuff. I'm sorry but it would be very hard to not recruit well in this day in age at LSU.... this isn't 1992.

recruiting has not been the issue at lsu. coaching on the offensive of the ball and qb development has been the problem.

this is false, coaches still have to recruit. The problem is people act like Coach O is some kind of rare recruiting find. He's not. In 2009 we signed 5, FIVE NFL defensive lineman (Brockers, Mingo, Montgomery, Logan and Hicks). Who recruited those guys? You can find recruiters, what's hard to find is the great X-O guys.

they did not do enough to beat them. THEY DID NOT WIN. Look at the damn games, the didn't have horses on defense. So, It's better to score 35 points, allow bama's defense two t.d's, and still lose the damn game? That's better? that's doing enough to win? my goodness.

Who gives a flying Flip about records against mizzou, southern miss etc.?

As stated previously, why couldn't bama score as much as southern miss, miss state, Jacksonville state?

Who has the best qb in the sec? Ole miss! Not lsu

Exactly the same as Coach Miles. We already tried that, it doesn't work. Get a real coach in here.

Les miles has not recruited qb or online well. That is a fact. He may have top 10 classes littered with running backs, receivers, Dbs, and defense line however he jas not recruited quarterbacks, online, Or linebackers very well at all
