Riley must really fear the level of competition in the SEC

To leave Oklahoma (a perennial playoff contender soon to join the SEC) and go to USC (not relevant in 18 years), likely for less money than he would have gotten from a current SEC team and recent national champion in LSU.

His chest is lacking.

At first I just thought Aranda was savage but after he explained why he did it I started side eyeing Riley. He had to know why Dave did it so to whine about it was a bad look. Or he didn’t know why Aranda did it, which is even worse.

Well, he did lose to Georgia, Bama, and LSU in the playoffs

Or maybe he just likes the idea of California living and an easy way to make college playoffs.

Not that it matters, be he wasn't whining about the scoring part. He was whining about students athletes storming the field before the game was over

I honestly don’t think he was really our top target. If he was I really feel we dodge a bullet with him going somewhere else. Think about it. He took over a program that was humming. Playing in the weak arse big 12. I really don’t think he is SEC material.

It'll be USC and Oregon every year battling for the PAC 12 title, and national media will suck it up and USC will play nobody, but be ranked #1 in polling. Also, Riley recruits really well in California and Arizona.

Maybe my memory fails me but I thought he was upset about both. He was clearly upset about having to put his players back on the field for the field goal.

He’s as scared of the SEC as a possum is an axe handle. I’m so glad he’s gone.

He literally brought up some code of sportsmanship bs.

Yes, he was upset about the storming of the field, but he also said, "I get why they kicked the fg, but I wouldn't do it because of code of sportsmanship." or some crap.

quote:

Lincoln Riley said he was upset that Baylor wasn’t assessed a 15-yard penalty for the field rushing. He also said he understands why Dave Aranda kicked the FG, but said he wouldn’t have done it and that it goes against a “code of sportsmanship"

That's a bitch, bruh.

If I’m Riley I’m going to USC. It’s a premier job with thousands of premier recruits within driving distance. It’s a better path to the playoffs and he’ll probably do well there. Hope he fails miserably but they are a sleeping giant. Call it fear, or no chest or whatever. I call it smart as hell.

If he is getting $15 million to go to USC, he is a genius. I think that you are correct; he knows that life is much tougher in the SEC. Look at the example of Nebraska which was elite in the old Big 8 playing Kansas, Kansas State, Colorado, Iowa State, OK State (pre-Gundy). Life in the Big 10 has proved to be much tougher, and Nebraska is on the verge on being irrelevant.

Hate to break it to you guys but with NIL USC is the much better job. Los Angeles will always have much more opportunity for players to sell themselves to corporations over a place like Baton Rouge.

The major media centers will have an advantage in upcoming years when it comes to NIL
