He didn't really fall off at the end. Other teams started catching up to his rosters or he would lose to a generational quarterback.
or lose in overtime in the CFP semi-finals to a team that was loaded and probably stealing signs.

72 seems to be the magic age when things tend to go sideways for coaches. Granted, everyone is slightly different. Saban would be approaching 79 at the end of a 4 year contract.
Be careful there.

He was one stop away from beating Michigan in 2023 and going to the Natty, where he would have definitely beat Washington

It would take him 4 years to bring this program back.
I’m not sold he’s even looking with NIL and transfer portal in play now.

Saban's name and reputation + $25 million in NIL and LSU is in the playoffs next season.

Naw… Nick Saban with huge NIL money would get it back in 2 years tops. Hell, any good/great coach in this environment can get it back in the first 2 years. While we’d all love Saban, a good hire will have this program in the playoffs within two years, if not sooner.
When I say “back” I don’t necessarily mean winning it all. I mean back to in the conversation in November and December.

It is not happening because I do not believe that Saban will come out of retirement. LSU's roster has plenty of talent on it as is. Coaching and not talent is the reason why LSU is not in the playoff picture this season. You add Saban's intensity and coaching abilities to LSU's talent and LSU is an instant playoff team. Again it is not happening because Little Nicky isn't coming out of retirement.

So there's no rule against it?
Probably not
But it’s not really feasible even if anyone wanted to do it

I cant wrap my head around Saban coming back to coaching considering he quit because of all this NIL stuff.
Saban knew that bama couldn’t compete in the nil world. They don’t have the money.

If he came and won one more NC, he could have Saban Field at Bryant Denny Stadium and Nick Saban Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge.
