Rich Rod must be the exception to the rule “you can always go home”

Oh how the mighty (sort of) have fallen.

Given the direction this coaching staff has taken, I expect Bo Pelini to emerge as the DC.

I’m hearing the same but nothing confirmed

How the heck is ULM attracting these guys? Big money donors must be shelling it out big time!

And to think how close he was to being the HC at Bama before Sexton called for Nick.

Why wouldn’t they have just hired him as HC?

I don’t think they will be able to afford him

That's what I'm wondering. He was a mess at Michigan but damn. OC at ULM? He loves the Bowden family that much?

His original contract with Ole miss would have paid him through January 2022. They may have settled on a buyout with him or he may still be getting some checks from ole miss

Your memory is a bit off. The order of events was more like this...
Bama reached out to Saban. He said no.
Bama reached out to Spurrier (no offer) and he said he wasn't interested.
Bama offered Rich Rod. He said no (although it was reported he said yes, then no on December 8, 2006)
Bama went back to Saban and he said yes eventually.

Would transform ULM. The kids from West Monroe and Neville who can’t quite play at LSU or Alabama just want to stay home. This would give them a great option.

Does ULM offer a stipend to players? Do the other SunBelt schools? I've heard that they're the only ones who don't but I've never researched it. If that's true that they're the only ones who don't then you have to start there. No coach can overcome that on the recruiting trail.

They offer off campus housing costs and that’s it I believe
