I don't have any ill will towards Sumlin, but if he were to get fired and Coach Chavis got left without a job it would make me

Neither of those is going to happen. A&M is not firing Kevin Sumlin. And Chavis would have another DC job within a few days.

so the consequences of an LSU win could be O gets the job and sumlin is fired. seems like a long term loss to me.

If we go through all this crap and end up with O and Aggie gets Herman I might start pulling for Mississippi State.

A&M players will carry Sumlin off the field Thanksgiving night or Miles starts chewing grass in College Station with Chavis.

Chavis got a guaranteed contract out of the deal. That was part of why he left LSU. So if he is fired, he gets paid for doing nothing.

They should just swap head coaches.

The truth is nobody knows who is the best coach for LSU until he has coached at LSU for at least 3 years. I remember when Saban was going to be hire at LSU he was not even in the top 3 choices of expert fans.

Sumlin will still be here next year unless he loses to both UTSA and LSU (not happening).

Will Texas keep strong if he goes 6-6 (win Kansas and lose to TCU?) or even if he wins both to go 7-5? He promised after year one that they would never lose 5 games again....

The article is mostly propaganda to try and help Texas with recruiting. Don't read too far into it.

At least Saban had his only major HC job showing a trending up, unlike Orgeron. And Saban also was a bona fide defensive guru, already known.

Do you think if Mark Emmert were still here he'd size up Orgeron and think he is the future of LSU football? Not likely. Emmert made the brave call to go for excellence and not politics.

Exactly. Sumlin has a ridiculous buyout if I remember correctly. He's staying at least another year

When I want the most up to date A&M news, CLEARLY the first place I go is a longhorn site.

This would represent a drastic change in how we've done business. I would like it though. If Texas were theoretically out of the picture I think our chances to land Herman would be good

Still seems like an enormous longshot. Barring a total meltdown Sumlin will be our coach next year

It would go a long way to upgrading the coaching talent in the SEC West if that somehow happened. The chances of LSU getting Fisher are considerably better than us getting Herman.

i will no shite throw an actual fit if aggie gets herman and we get coach O.
