Remember when Kelly stole Freeman from us?

I remember the process very well. We were all going apeshit. Pounding our chest. 1 yard line etc.
I remember the Notre Dame 24/7 boards basically conceding Freeman and pouting about how they are going to lose him because we were throwing too much money.
It felt imminent, like any moment LSU was going to announce.
Then Bruce Feldman hit us with a tweet saying "Marcus Freeman has signed as ND DC" and we melted hard as shite.
Kelly had stealth bombed us and bagged him.
I know this hard as hell, I know we basically have no sauce right now and we're getting antsy watching A&M throwing bags and Saban raiding our state. We no longer have Alleva as AD, and a lot of the info that used to leak came from Coach O's regime. We are running a tight ship now. Kelly and Wood are sneaky.
Just be patient guys. Kelly is a stealth bomber.

Yep. Woody meddled and got word out to freeman that he was looking to get rid of O. It will be nice to have some alignement for sure.

Freeman said on Jim Rome yesterday that he thought he was going to come to LSU with Kelly until Notre Dame offered him a shot at HC. I think the BR narrative was just fan fiction from people unable to admit that Kelly was better than Orgeron + a little more money.

It was more everybody knew O was a sinking ship and there was a massive risk by coming on with a bozo who meddles in the defense. Jones was fortunate O’s firing happened mid season so he was able to show what he could do.
