Coming on the heels of Georgia’s announcement that Mark Richt wouldn’t return as head coach in 2016, a source tells 247Sports that current Houston head coach Tom Herman would be highly interested in the opening in Athens.
The 40-year-old Herman is regarded as the hottest up-and-coming coaching candidate in college football. He spent three seasons as Ohio State’s offensive coordinator — winning a national title in his final year with a third-stringer in Cardale Jones — prior to landing the head job at Houston last offseason. While with the Buckeyes, one of Herman’s primary recruiting territories was the Atlanta metro-area, which could help him if he were to be hired by Georgia.

High risk High reward for UGA. Herman has 1 year of HC experience but could really do damage with UGAs resources.

Props for UGA, I'm happy for their fans. They live today knowing their program isn't content with being the mediocre drunk uncle of the college football world.

He will be a success. Best young coach in America.

Trust me, it took the admins a lot longer than it should have to get to that point.
If Miles doesn't at least win the West next year (OR play in a NY6 game), he's probably next.

LSU wasn't going to hire him anyway. Our athletic department is literally inept, and only wants guys that have been here before because they don't really pay attention to college football.

Doubt it. Our admins don't want to be mean. Plus they are afraid of what the media might say.

Until strong gets fired and he is on the next plane to Austin. Leaving them in the exact same spot a year from now.
