re: Rank these “get able” OC’s

And he was only an OC for 3 seasons, last in 2007. His success has always been dependent on having good coaches underneath him (Holgorsen, Kingsbury, Spavital). He’s probably a decent recruiter, but he ran a notoriously loose ship at A&M his players were constantly in trouble with the law. After the stories I’ve heard from my friends in College Station, trust me we don’t want that guy anywhere near our program.

Sowder is an interesting cat.
Young w/less than 15 years experience, but coordinated at Bowling Green, SDSU, & now Kent.
Played at Baylor for A. Briles & spent a season in QC for Herman at Texas.
Wonder if the jump up to SEC OC would be too big for him?

Ditto on Sumlin’s time at eaTme.
Ags I work with loved the Swag Copter at first, but wanted to down it with a SAM by the time Sumlin was done.

Mmm hmm . . . God forbid we think outside the box and focus on results on the field instead of a "name" like Harrell. Brady wasn't a name. Canada, Pelini, etc. were.

Sowder looks like the guy that if you take a chance on him & you hit, he could be the LSU OC for 10+ years & still be a young HC candidate.
Would O & the brain trust take the bet? We shall see.

Texas native which could help with recruitin
You should make a thread on him. Let's get him an interview.

Finally somebody brings a legit name to the table, instead of 95% of these fricking idiots on this site.

Would be a great hire.
It may be a stretch, but I do like Rob Sale as a dark horse candidate. Louisiana native and former LSU player, has done a great job at ULL and has some SEC coaching experience. Not my #1, but I like him better than some of the other names that I've seen. He also is an Alum from Neville, which certainly wouldn't hurt with recruiting.
Rob Sale
Also, some others have posted threads on Joe Moorhead. Not sure if he is "gettable", but would be very satisfied with that hire if they were able to pull it off.

This is our guy. I love the fact that he comes from the Briles coaching tree - power spread offense.

Id interview him for a spot on the staff. It doesnt hurt
I don't see him as the oc but thats why u have a real search

I'd be happy with Moorhead as well but I doubt we would out bid Phil Knight for him. I also question whether he wants to come back to the SEC.

-1) Graham Harrell
-2) Kendal Briles
-3) Sonny Cumbie
-4) Kevin Sumlin
-5) Scott Frost

Scott Frost may be the furthest sports person from LSU'S radar for any position.
