FWIW, his record as a DC notwithstanding, there aren’t many college football coaches in the nation that can relate to inner city kids. The doors he could open for South Florida recruiting alone would make it a great hire.

Randy Shannon ran Tampa 2 every play with Miami 20 years ago and it worked because he had 30 Pro Bowlers on defense. That was about the extent of his elite defensive coordinating
