Western Kentucky and Kent State out performed us offensively as well. Pretty sad display of game planning and offense. Let's not pretend that Western Kentucky or Kent State have better players on offense than LSU does. This was all about poor offensive scheming, play calling, execution, and clock management.

Our defense held them to 0 pts through 3.5 quarters and our offense couldn't even get a field goal. We had several opportunities to do so, thanks to the defense, as well. Just very disappointing.

At this point I'd rather Aranda than anyone else. He's smart, articulate and calm. He seems like a quiet sort of leader, which would be nice.

I'm glad you idiots don't have any say in the decision. Being a brilliant DC does not automatically translate into being a good HC. You want a proven commodity at HC at a program on this level, not the current sexy coordinator with ZERO HC experience.

I agree with you there, but if it came down to him or O i would go Aranda. My only comfort, if O was hired, is knowing that he would likely discuss all hires with Aranda and will hopefully value his opinions on those hire.

I think Aranda would be able to pick a great OC because he knows the defensive side of the ball so well. Kinda like saban did with kiffen. Looked at the CFB offensive landscape and realized what he would need to beat his own defense (which is one of the best in the country) and what is the most successful offensive schemes currently being ran.

what we he going to do though? Etling is a limited flawed qb. He can beat other teams, but no way can he beat Bama.

The plan almost worked, if BDP hadn't ruined special teams it might have worked but when you have a early kick blocked and such it really becomes a hassle.

I clearly didn't enjoy being shut out, but when you look at game plans to beat bama and what we have i'm not sure the best route. We know ways to beat Bama but with our qb and our oline the routes are limited. The knock from this game should be the half time clock management. Also the not going to BH should be another knock.

I still stick with Herman, Jimbo, Kelly type and then O ahead of the tier 2. Its just now we know O needs others to say no to us. O wins out and he gets to be the top tier 2 guy and i would say has at least a shot at being coach. I wont freak out because like I said I do think he has a plan, its just hard to implement the entire thing midseason with the cards we have. O bringing in Lane would be huge considering that would lock down our class.

I think we are going to be alright if we go with Herman, Jimbo or Kelly. We will be fine with O as long as he brings in a good oc.

well yea, but Bama also put in back ups in those games. Its a bit different when you face the starters the entire time. Still it was a pathetic display on offense

What does that mean, RuLSU--"the best coaching option isn't being mentioned?"
And the kicker--"I suspect that will change relatively shortly."
Please share.

He's probably talking about Chip Kelly.

Tom fricking Herman was only an OC two years ago. So he has 1 good year and one shitty year so far. How do we know if he's worth a shite?

This is what amazes me about this fan base. They completely ignore how bad that Houston team has been recently.

He lost to two scrubs and should have lost two more if not for pulling a rabbit's foot out of his arse. Supposed to win conference and have a shot at the playoffs but is not even going to win the division. Is that not a shitty year with all of those expectations?

The expectations with the playoff were bred by them playing above expectations at the beginning of the year. People get attached to their own agenda so much that they can't look at anything objectively, it's ridiculous. The 3 years preceding Herman at UH, they had 17 losses. Herman has 3 through his first 2 years. He's done very well at a commuter school. He's not my first choice, but I can look at things objectively.

Herman is not a HR hire. Dude has had 2 years as head coach and shite the bed for one of them.

Ok what about third place in their division? I'd prefer rolling the dice with Aranda if we can't get Jimbo

We'll see how it shakes out at the end of the year. Yeah that sounds bad now, but it's disingenuous to have that define who he is as a coach. The fact of the matter is, he has been successful everywhere he has been as an OC, and out of that commanded respect from the GOAT to ever do it. He has improved Houston drastically from his predecessor and put them squarely in the national conversation after a year and a half. He has proven to match wits with some of the best coaches in the country. To act like he's anything other than a top candidate is dishonest.

LSU would be lucky to have him and neutral third parties from around the country would agree. He should be in the first tier of candidates among 3-4 others, and rightfully so.

No doubt he is a top candidate, but I think Aranda should be also. He has been successful wherever he has been as well.

Aranda is the man, but he hasn't run a program like Herman has. If we ended up with Aranda, I wouldn't be that disappointed because the guy is very clearly a genius.

Just shut up. Amanda as the head coach?

If LSU ends up on it's Tier 2 or 3 list, Aranda's name is going to be involved.

Personally, given the loss to Bama and the resulting killshot to Orgeron, Aranda is more likely than Orgeron. AND, it gives you a path to keeping Orgeron as DC (with Aranda really calling the shots).
