People bitching about LSU losing to Alabama want to hire a guy who lost to SMU while amassing 303 total yards. I honestly don't see where all the Herman love comes from. As OC maybe.

we tried spreading them out SOME. again, the problem is we couldn't win the one on one battles you HAVE TO WIN to make them counter with more defensive help in that area. we did not run it good enough to force safeties into the box or to force saefties and LB's outside so we could counter either over the top OR up/down the middle. we sucked at everything.

Are you going to tell him what plays he has to run also?

How long you are HC here depends on wins and losses. But, you have to keep these coaches. Uh, No thanks....

No more CEo type head coaches. We need a guy who can run an offense like meyer, jimbo, petrino, Petersen, Herman etc.

i agree. i'm a bit tired of the mack brown/les miles model.

The clock management at the half was the worst thing. The o is whatever, you can't overhaul an offense during the season. You can make tweaks but that gets you wins against ok defense and good defenses. You don't go all gunslinger vs bama D on the fly with a noodle arm qb. Honestly there was not shite O could have done about our offense last night. Our oline was complete and utter garbage, you can try anything you want but when the dline treats you like a bitch good luck. Also when other Ds are physical you can usually out smart them, the issue with Bama is you can't outsmart them.

You can outsmart Bama, that's how teams have beaten them. With the spread. This is one of the main reasons why I don't want O. He has outright said that he is a pro style guy, and wants a pro style QB for his pro style offense, and wants to get them first from Louisiana, before looking elsewhere. Problem with that is Louisiana high schools run mostly spread and option, and Bama hasn't lost to a pro style QB since 2010 or a pro style offense since 2011. Thing was, even with that 2011 win, that pro style offense changed up mid game with a dual threat and went read option, and Bama missed 4 FGs.

Ed O refused to put Harris in the game at all yesterday and from his quote last night, gave me the impression that he is just as stubborn as Miles on his philosophy. Petrino had no problem going to Lamar Jackson and switching from a pro style like he ran with Mallett at Arkansas, to a spread approach with Jackson. Saban is letting Kiffin do almost similar with Hurts (like he did with Sims).

You'd think O would have learned his lesson by now, but nope.

quote:

I do think last night should have dropped him to about 5% chance being only if Herman and Jimbo say no. If he wins the last 3, then he should be 3rd on the list. if we lose another then he is completely gone from the list.

If he wins the last 3, he still should be much lower on the totem pole. We need an offensive HC, preferably spread, that is a QB whisperer. Aranda runs a stout defense, so scoring 20-24 points should win every game remaining on the schedule.

Herman and Aranda would be game...blouses.

there are 2 home run hires, Jimbo and Herman. that is it, everything else is a possible homer or a major strike out

Alabama is a good team, but being shutout in our own turf with the talent we have is undeniably an offensive failure. You can motivate all you want but without a serviceable scheme and the ability to adatpt and change on the field you will be doom with a team like alabama.

we might need to just hire Aranda. considering the disaster of the first month and the fact that miles and cameron left us with no passing game whatsoever, that might have been the best defense Ive ever seen at LSU.

Juluke is in way over his head as a coach. Recruiting isn't everything.

Chip isn't leaving the NFL. we have two realistic home runs: Jimbo and Herman. O, PJ fleck an others could be home runs or they could be doubles or strike outs.

Fedora would be a single and likely a strike out.

I wouldn't be opposed to Aranda. He turned our D around so quickly and he is so clinical it could be very good.

I think O has head man and Aranda at assistant hc and dc is the combination that allows him to really focus on his thing.

Also can Aranda bring in a top oc, I think O can get us Lane.

What makes you say that? I've had no issues with the way the RBs have been handled this season

I think you're the only one that saw what was happening last night. yo-yo's on here attribute everything to stacking the box and our coaches not noticing it. we pretty much lost most of our one on one battles. the only option that may have worked was running QB and i'm not sure about that.
