This is a good hire. If he does reasonably well at Purdue, he will take over in Colorado after "I'm comin" gets told "please leave"

No head coaching experience and only 2 years of coordinator experience. I know he is well thought but this seems like a reach.

Gotta hire the guy who wants the job.

Purdue has a specific set of challenges. Great school, but limited in curriculum, and cold AF in a small town. Small state population.

Not an easy gig.

Yep. Brohm left them in a pretty good position to have a leg up at winning there. He's in a good spot to put himself in the running for some bigger jobs in the next 3-5 years if he can find a way to keep it rolling. UCLA and USC joining may push them into the tougher West Division though if it gets set up that way.

Walters wouldn't do shite at Colorado. Prime may have them bowling next season.

If he does reasonably well at Purdue, he'll be able to aim significantly higher than Colorado.

Why are so many high on Walters? I know Illinois has a good defense, but the B1G West is a pretty good league to be playing defense against.

This is a coin flip hire at best.

Yeah, kind of agree with this. Plus, it goes against the grain of their normal offensive-minded hires.

This reminds me of the Big 12 10ish years ago when it wasn’t clear if the offenses were good or the defenses were bad.

He could end up being great, but it’s a pretty meh hire on the surface

Yeah. That would have overhauled the rosters and recruiting classes

He’s a Colorado alum who probably would be successful and stay there a long time.

Deion is a mercenary who will either fail miserably or succeed and leave.

Colorado will still be Colorado after he’s gone.

If deion wins and leaves that job will be in a much better place.

Then they can hire walters.

That’s not the case with the portal. Teams can disintegrate as quick as they can be built.

Assuming Deion brings all the talent to Boulder his fanboys think he will, you expect them to stay when Deion leaves? Lol
