OK..Miles needs someone he can trust with everything going on to put him out to pasture. LOL! So...he can eat more grass!! BDP has experience calling Ds. Brick in the pressbox and BDP on the field. Hire a real STs guy. Charlie Kelly can do both...DC and STs.

Your two examples are of a HC who actually ran the defense. Obviously, that's a different situation that makes more sense. Chip Kelly promoting a position coach to OC would make sense too.
Steve Spurrier shouldn't be promoting a position coach to DC from within the program unless there are CLEAR indications and he is supremely confident that the young position coach will be successful.
