Why would Gundy leave Oklahoma State for Arkansas?
Not a step up in facilities, state recruiting, program prestige or money. The only thing I see is the SEC over the Big 12, oh and by the way he played QB in Stillwater.

Tennesee - Jon Gruden - Vols will camp outside Grudens house and throw money at him whenever he leaves and "scream king Jon to Tennesee". They will of course be shirtless and painted orange and white with Gruden spelled out on their torsos. Gruden will take the job for the money and lulz and install his spiderman banana xy offense
I can see it now.... G R U D I N

You are wrong on at least two things here

Arkansas will get a big name IMO. Bert and Petrino were big hires at the time.
I bet it’ll be Gus or Gundy. Morris to A&M.

I don't think it happens but would love it. I just find it funny when I see the reasons why posters think it won't happen.

Is Jerry Jones a big behind the scenes booster? I could see him trying to get Gundy although him and Pickens appear to be friends.

Big Arky Wildcard: Jimmy Johnson.
He’s 74...but in great shape. House got wrecked in the Keys.

I'm probably not the most informed when it comes to boosters but from what I have heard, Jerry is a big player but tries his best to make sure no one really knows his feelings.

So are you saying Arkansas is a better job right now that Ok State got it.

My thought is is it a lateral move? Not that Arkansas is necessarily a bad job. But at OSU it might be easier for Gundy to achieve ultimate success than it is at Ark.
First (the obvious): Alabama doesn't play in the Big 12
Second: Is besting Bama, Auburn, LSU, A&M (if they get a top notch coach) plus the SEC East Champ. easier than beating OU, Texas and maybe TCU?
Third: Is there a significant recruiting advantage that Ark. has over OSU? Yes, Ark. is the only big in-state program. But I don't think anyone can win there by just getting the top talent in Ark. He still has to get players from Texas and surrounding states.
He has a good program going at OSU.

Well, ya there is no doubt that he is overall going to have an easier schedule with Ok state over the long haul. I think at times this gets overstated from a coach's perspective though. You could say the exact same thing from Bert's perspective but he still made the move. He most likely regrets it now.

I honestly wouldn't say so, Arkansas is in a very tough spot recruiting wise but I get your point about being the flagship of the state.

Sure and nothing you have said was wrong. You definitely wouldn't fall into the category of posters saying ridiculous things.

Wasnt Okie St screwed out of a possible NCG a few years back-2011-?? Does that happen at Ark if you have the same record?

Well it is a very hard question to answer because Bama and LSU were the ones playing that year and Arkansas would have had to beat at least one of those teams. On average I don't think the respect given would be much different.

They beat the good teams they played that year, lost in OT to a lesser team. That would be like Arky beating Bama and LSU and losing to Ole Miss or some struggling team.

Arkansas: Blake Anderson
Ole Miss: Neal Brown
Florida: Brian Harsin
Tennessee: Tee Martin
Texas A&M: Chad Morris
State: Mullin stays
