I've been saying since the Troy debacle and the meeting with Joe that Canada would look to get out as soon as possible.

It's hard to bury the hatchet on a coach who said he wouldn't overrule you and then goes back on his word. Then, the HC basically throws you under a bus. Canada may jump on the smallest HC job he can get.

As an LSU fan, I hope they mended fences and O saw the error of his ways.

Grimes should've been fired long ago.

I predict we hire a Special Teams Coordinator. We'll probably have to move some chips around, but yeah, we need one.

Heard from multiple people that they think Canada is gone. No one in football opps likes the guy. Never stayed anywhere longer two years

I think there's a good chance Canada's gone, especially if Orgeron throws him under the bus after tonight.

I’ve heard the same. I also heard that O never really wanted Canada. The meeting with Alleva was because Alleva apparently told O to either get rid of Canada, or let him do what they’re paying him $1.5 million to do.

He is from New Iberia and played at LSU. Making $425,000 a year to coach a game you love, in a place you love is a pretty good gig.

Ya, frick that guy for maybe wanting to rise up the coaching ranks and run a defense or entire team

Offensive Coordinator: Matt Canada - GONER
OL Coach: Jeff Grimes - retained
RB Coach: Tommie Robinson - GONER
WR Coach: Mickey Joseph - GONER

Robinson isn’t going anywhere. Him and O are boys from their USC days, and he came here specifically to Work for O. So, unless he gets a HC job, he’ll be here for at least another year.

Joseph is a tricky one. Our WR’s haven’t been all that great this year as pass catchers, but they have done pretty good running the jet sweeps. He was brought in to recruit Nola, but the top WR prospect from there is currently committed to Florida, although that seems pretty likely to change now. He may be another Juluke, in over his head in the SEC. Orgeron did have to bring in Jerry Sullivan as a consultant in fall camp to help Joseph coach the WR’s.

Grimes should be gone no matter what. I don’t know how he’s even still on staff here.

Canada I believe will be out also. There’s just too much smoke of disagreements between he and O, and O admitted he meddled in the offense earlier this season, something he promised over and over in preseason he wouldn’t do. Canada and Bert didn’t get along, Canada and Dave Doeren didn’t get along, now Canada and O. Canada seems like a PITA to work with.

Defensive Coordinator: Dave Aranda - retained
DL Coach: Pete Jenkins - RETIREMENT
LB Coach: Dennis Johnson - retained
DB Coach: Corey Raymond - retained

Aranda isn’t going anywhere unless the NFL comes calling, and he may turn it down if it’s not the right situation and money.

Jenkins is done. We need a recruiter here, since O can assist in coaching the DL.

Johnson will probably still be on staff. I don’t see him leaving from learning under O and Aranda.

Raymond is a tricky one. He’s an LSU/South LA guy, a great coach and recruiter, but you never really hear his name being mentioned for DC jobs. He’s not leaving here for a lateral move.

I think Raymond is gone soon. Someone will risk him at DC just for his recruiting prowess.
