My opinion is that this is Almost a done deal may even be announced today.

I like the possible hire.

I can see that working out for both sides. Looks like a good fit to me.

Wonder how that would affect frost coaching bowl game.

Could see him leaving his assistants behind to finish with the team but seems like he would head to Nebraska immediately if they have the replacement in place.

Would be weird I’m sure having a new coach in house and a lame duck coach. Interested to see how that works out.

Nebraska is allegedly paying half our assistants’ salaries until the bowlgame.

Interesting - he and Strong always did want to coach against each other

I'm not seeing reported elsewhere.

I am surprised Sumlin is not waiting to see what other Dominos may fall. Tennessee, Arkansas, Florida State, and Az State still have to be filled.

There is no telling what other jobs may come open that might be a better situation.

He seems like a PAC 12 or Big 10 type coach

Heck SMU might be a good fit if they pay him enough of their coach leaves.

I jumped the gun on the original post so edited it to make it hypothetical. If he’s coming to UCF it will be announced today. If it’s not announced today it fell through

Meh, I think he got lucky at A&M. How many of his quarterbacks there transferred and started elsewhere? Like 2 or 3?

I think it's good for him and bad for UCF.

If he were smart, he would hold off til Purdue comes open.

We can def. keep Brohm away from that shithole in TN but might be hard to keep him from going to FL and an actually relevant, power program.

Seems like he fits well at Arizona St, but they may not view him as an upgrade over Graham.

UCF may promote their interim or consider Kiffin.

UCF is the best G5 job there is (USF is a pretty close second)....massive school, modern city, recruits galore.
And like most AAC schools, institutionally equivalent to schools in P5 conferences. Better job than a lot of P5 jobs.

As for Sumlin, he's a winner, but his teams have had the same weakspots at both places.

Ryan Bass
?
@Ry_Bass
Source: #UCF is engaged in discussions with former Texas A&M coach Kevin Sumlin. He’s their top target to succeed Scott Frost. No agreement has been reached, but talks are ongoing.
