It's not really that big of a jump for Leach imho.

I need them to promote Cristobal to HC and keep Levitt at DC. We don’t need Cristobal recruiting for FSU.

I like this, but I'll lean towards Justin Wilcox.

What has Cristobal done to deserve mention?

It's too soon for Justin imo, he's an unknown quantity as a head coach.

Besides, frick him for going to Udub.

Cristobal would be a disaster for you guys. I'm trying to think, and I honestly don't see a name thrown out there yet that would scare me. I do think you could bring in Sumlin and basically get the same thing you would have gotten with Taggart. Does the administration risk hiring another coach without any ties to the area or university again though?

Once you start hiring guys because they are less likely to leave, you've already lost the search.

I've heard his name a few times and I'm stunned.

I agree, he wouldn't be a good hire.

No idea, but they are kind of against the clock right now. Hopefully they don't panic.

Sumlin, Leavitt, Wilcox, Harsin, Kiffin, Schiano is a pretty good list to start with.

I agree, but they also just got burned by hiring an outsider. It wouldn't shock me if they did lean towards someone with ties to the university because of the Taggart situation.

How much better off is Oregon now for hiring the best guy available last year?

You guys got hosed on this. Terrible timing with the early signing period happening this year. That early signing period will create an even bigger advantage for coaching stability.

Having your bowl game fall on the last recruiting weekend was a tough break too. I don't think you are necessarily against the clock. You aren't going to be hiring a coach and saving any recruits when this weekend is the last weekend for official visits. After the early signing period you have the dead period.

I would say to take your time and get someone in place before the dead period ends in January. The new coach can't recruit anyways past like the 22nd of December or something.
