I am surprised former Oregon OC Jeff Tedford has not been mentioned. Oregon will be lucky to get a coach as good as him.

What has he done as a head coach?
He isn't terrible but I'm sure you and all your buddies would love that hire.

He won at Cal and is winning year 1 at Fresno State. Cal has not been the same since they fired him. He raised the expectations there. Probably to an unrealistic level.
I doubt Oregon gets a coach as good as him. They're are looking more for flash than substance.

Exactly. Oregon wants flash, not substance.
You said my buddies would like the hire. No they wouldn't, they hate Oregon and know he is a great coach. Heck, he was their first choice to replace Neuheisel and Gilby. They know he propped up Jonathan Smith last year. They know he is the 2nd greatest Oregon OC of all-time behind the current UCLA coach.
I want Tedford to stay at his alma mater. I want stepping stone flash in Eugene next year riding Herbert and that 9-3 talent to another gig ala Bill Tags.
