Asked one of my sources about him... my sources quote.
"Haven't heard much rumbles about him connected to the LSU job. My guess is he doesn't have enough skins on the wall to be legitimately considered for this job."
ETA: sounds like he would fall behind the "Retain O" slot. Assuming O goes undefeated or 1 loss.

I got news for you. With the exception of his failure at Ole Miss as a HC (which he's owned and learned from), his resume is pretty damn impeccable. Couple that with his strong Louisiana ties.

I would love to see Fleck get the Kentucky job (assuming stoops gets fired) or a lower tier power school and see what he can do with it.

I'm 100% convinced Fleck is the next big thing, he's going to be a great coach for someone, I just wish it was us but I doubt Alleva has the vision to make such a move

he took a promotion way before he was ready. Id be concerned about hiring O if he was acting like Will Muschamp and bringing in the same oc that helped get him fired.
Will took a year off from head coach and he didn't learn a thing from his failure at UF. O on the other hand has had other stints and has stated what he learned from the failure.
I think its fair to hold ole miss against him, but its also fair to take into consideration that he learned from it.

Which is literally the only time he's been a full time HC.
And he went 3-21 in the SEC, got worse each year he was there, and was far worse than both his predecessor and successor.

I believe he would be better here than he was at OM, I just have a hard time seeing him winning more than 8 or 9 games on a consistent basis.
But hey if he wins out or even goes 7-1 with a good loss then fine give him a shot.

its not unreasonable to believe that. I have said it before but id consider him tier 2 and at the top of that. He is a known for us at this time. We know he can recruit and i like the process that i have seen him taken in as the interm coach and i think it would work long term as well.
I look at O like a dabo with a higher ceiling. I was pretty sure Dabo would be a failure considering he is a retard. However, he went out and found a great oc and dc. I think O can do that with our budget.

Name one other SEC school that, if the HC position was opened, would have Ed O in their top 3. No flame. No trap. Honest question of your opinion.
My opinion is that there isn't another school that would have him in their top 3 as HC and that LSU has him there because of

He's been on staff the last two years as well, so he has the pulse of the team. It's not like they pulled him straight off the street to interim.
