I know Rhoads is the former DC over at Pitt.....but I don't see hlm leaving his alma mater for the Pitt job

I've heard he's a "weird dude". Maybe he doesn't interview well or maybe people don't think he'd do well with the public side of being a HC. Who knows?

Whatever happens, you can almost be sure that Pitt AD Steve Pederson will hire the wrong person. This is, after all, the guy who fired Frank Solich after a 9-3 season at Nebraska and hired Bill Callahan; fired Dave Wannstedt and hired Mike Haywood...when announcing Haywood as the new coach Pederson went on and on about how character was the best and deciding attribute in the hire...two weeks later Haywood was arrested for beating his wife; finally, he hired Todd Graham.
Pitt guys hate Pederson up there. They played a clip from a press conference yesterday when he was asked if he would hire an outside search firm for consulting in the hiring process. He replied no, that he would head up the search himself. Right after playing the clip, there was a loud collective groan and muffled cursing.

Stoops might just be the guy, then. He's a hot commodity at DC, but he wasn't anything special as a head coach. As an Arkansas fan, I'll feel better if he's not running Auburn's defense.
