Following what very closely? This coaching search, or Jimmy Sexton?

As a Bama fan, I am intimately familiar with how Jimmy Sexton coaching searches unfold.

Time will tell if this one fits his usual mold or not.

He’s made a Non-NC or even conference winning coach not only the highest paid coach in the country (temporarily), he’s also got whoever signs him to commit top NIL and staff money.

It’s been a stroke of genius

On the other hand, it might be Verge Ausberry's Guernica.
In occupied Paris, a Gestapo officer who had barged his way into Picasso’s apartment pointed at a photo of the mural, Guernica, asking: "Did you do that?" "No," Picasso replied, "you did."

The only thing anyone needs to know about Jimmy Sexton is that the loudest noise is never the correct noise.

Yep. This might be the best indicator yet that this will end well

If Kiffin ends up at LSU, it will be the first time ever, as far as I can recall.

How loud was Saban to Bama while he was in Miami?

My point was I don’t think Lane going to LSU was the loudest noise. It just seems to be from a group of LSU posters on an LSU board. Outside this forum, I would say UF had more smoke.

I would not be surprised if he went to the NFL or stayed at OM

So now you are going to say that Rich Rod was objectively the loudest noise then, and Lane to LSU is the loudest noise now?

Convenient

Lane and Sexton is just lucky this year.

He's the only really desirable coach and there are many openings, with few proven candidates.

Sexton is about to musical chair half the SEC jobs with his clients.

It really is amazing.

No clue what he knows but that points to him not going to LSU.

It would point to some complex movement with multiple coaches and jobs

Would OM let him coach the playoffs if he is going to the NFL?
Yes. He won’t be a competitor recruiting against them if he’s going to the NFL

And doesn’t have to rush to the NFL immediately to solidify the roster. NFL combine isn’t until late February, free agency isn’t until March, and the draft isn’t until April. But if he’s going to another school, he will be actively recruiting players in December during a playoff run since early signing day is in a few weeks and the transfer portal opens in early January.
