Strong was never given a fair shake. The BMDs of Texas shat upon him before he had finished packing up to move to Austin.
Texas has GREAT things going for it. I mean, GREAT things. but at the same time you must know that when you take that job you get the donors that are far more hands on than what seem to be at other universities.
The biggest selling point for LSU is the divide betwixt Texas and LSU isn't THAT much, and the gap is closed substantially more due to the fact that Les' track record proves that LSU is loyal. Texas cannot say the same.
O has energized the team for you, but the proof will be if he can maintain that high through the end of the year. Heck, I don't know who y'all wind up with but if I were a coach looking to stake my claim and win at CFB Championship I'd want to know that stability were rock solid. Texas doesn't offer that. LSU seems to.
Just my two cents.

Give Tom whatever he wants and do it now.

Well you can't do it now, but start doing it in November

Maybe so, but why couldnt you have a contract signed naming him HC on X date? Not saying we should do that or that he would sign it, but is it not possible?

I mean I'm sure you could but no chance that anyone would sign it. Just unfair to their players to put that out there like that

someone put Tom's face on this for me

Tom should really do what any good man would do and sign on at LSu and show those texas hypocrites by winning a few national championships at LSU! That will show them

LSU doesn't have a blank check. So there is that

The hype around LSU football will be like nothing we've ever seen if we sign Herman. I've got a pretty nice meme in the can that I'll post if we land him. Don't want to jinx it.

From several accounts, LSU was prepared to offer Jimbo the $7M he was demanding last yr. Off the record of course. UT will go higher than that, here's hoping LSU once again, like it did with Nicky, will open up its checkbook and not be out bid.

Glad LSU waited. That wouldve been a huge bust

I'd take a $7M Jimbo over a $3M Orgeron.

Please tell me why Jimbo would be a bust?

I wish Herman were here now to kiss me on the forehead

Wow, Hermann is angling for Texas to break the bank for him big time, letting this type of story leak. Smart.
