This is SECTard logic in a nutshell. Coach X goes undefeated in some other conference : Well look who he's playing, that's not the SEC and if he loses a game, well look who he is playing, that's not the SEC. They just don't understand relative differences, it's impossible to explain to people that only see things in black and white terms.
As for Franklin, TBH i didn't really think of him at the start because i heard he was on the hot seat there. But he has turned it around and combine with back to back 9 win seasons at freaking Vanderbilt, I wouldn't have a problem with us hiring him at all.

the B1G has 4 teams in the top 10. He won 9 games and a bowl 2 years in a row at VANDERBILT. Overall he was 24-15, 11-13 in the SEC at Vandy. At PSU he inherited a team on probation and has improved every year 2-6 in conference 4-4, now he has a shot to make the CCG.
But no we don't want him, we'll take a guy that was 10-28 overall 3-21 in the SEC cause that was 10 years ago and coaches can improve.

Great bump.
With all that mess that was still there from Paterno/Sandusky sanctions. That Texans coach wasn't gonna do it for damn sure. Franklin is an outstanding coach who just won the best conference in football this season. So many idiots on this board.

Penn State has beaten TWO P5 teams with a winning conference record. And one of those wins was the fluke win at Ohio State. Not much to hang your hat on.

Franklin is the man and he would've been as good of a HC candidate as Herman and possibly Jimbo. But it is too late.

Exactly- Franklin and Penn St. are severely overrated. I am not on the Franklin band wagon...
