This was either very inspired or a prescription for a new search next year. It will be interesting to see who they bring in as OC.

I think he was McVays QB coach two years ago but the titans offense didn’t seem that creative last year

I’d rather see new guys getting opportunities than the usual merry go round of washed up head coaching names. Look at the rams for example. Could be a home run hire

Not black. Racist hire.

He’s been a hot assistant for a couple of years. Worked with McVay and Jay Gruden in Washington, and again with McVay in LA.
I thought he would have been a better fit in Cleveland to help develop Baker, instead of inheriting a Co-OC in Rogers.

Hope they’re not breaking in a QB guy just to appease Rodgers. Their defense needs big help.

Hiring a guy that can call plays is the new thing. Good OCs get poached as coaches and leave you reeling for a new OC every few years. This will be good for the program.
He is a Kyle Shanahan guy and worked under McVay too.

LaFleur part of Shanahan tree that produced McVay
LaFleur was the coordinator of the Rams breakthrough season in 2017 under head coach Sean McVay that saw its offense jump from last in the league to the 10th-most productive unit in terms of offense.
LaFleur was a member of the Mike Shanahan coaching staff in Washington that also produced McVay and San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan as NFL head coaches.

The Titans offense wasn’t particularly spectacular this year, so I’m not sure what the Packers see in his first big gig performance.
Hate this for Mariota. Next year will be his 5th OC in his career. That’s ridiculous.

Yeah but the Titans make everything blah. They'd have turned Mahomes into a 20 TD - 10 INT QB.

Marriota was hurt for a lot of the year
and they still almost made the playoffs. and they dont have many good skill players. I think its a good hire

Hell, if they'd waited a few hours, they could have gotten Saban at a discount.

In the pros, you can't tell just based on the success of the O they coordinated. A lot of that is based on quality of QB and preferred scheme of head coach.
Anthony Lynn was OC with the Bills!
And look at all of the failure from the Belichick line.

Lynn is more of a CEO type. He was brought in for his offense, he was a career RB coach before getting a shot.
And the titans had decent talent. One of the best Olines in the league, WRs are meh but good runningbacks and Mariota isn’t terrible.
Not saying it won’t work out, but seems like teams are really trying to find McVay 2.0. Don’t think that’s going to be a 100 percent success rate across the board
