For some ranters, only Sean Payton or Bill Walsh would have sufficed.
Bill Wash is too old and the West Coast Offense won't work in the SEC!
Sean Payton passes too much. That won't work in the SEC!
Paul Chryst runs the ball too much! That won't work in the SEC.
Signed, the Rant.

Honestly, I don't know much about the guy - and trying to sift through all the crap on here doesn't help any. I guess I was hoping for Miles to pull off a shockingly great hire.
Since I don't really know much about him I just have to say that I'm not 'bowled over' by the hire. I'll do some research and form my own opinion - then see how the offense performs next season.
I can say this though....I'm damn glad Crowton is gone.

People please keep the proper perspective, anyone will be better than Crowton!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How the hell could him not using LSU as a way to get another job be a good thing? So he can be lazy like Crowton was? Can't gameplan correctly because he has personal issues at home with his wife's health? I can't wait. Very underwhelming hire. He better show something against Oregon and do it fast. This hire screams Les wanted a weak OC. Why not when you have a $18 million buyout? You can do whatever the frick you please with this team.

A weak OC would've been a promoted assistant like Stud or Wilson. Miles hired Krag because he can coach a pro style offense and can coach our QBs.

He can coach QBs? Really? Who has he proven to coach? Brohm for a year? Bledsoe a 10 year vet? Doesn't that sound oddly familiar to Crowton's awesome QB development?

Runs a pro-set. I think that's where we want to be. I wish I could go back and see the complaints for a guy from Western GA named Will Muschamp in 2000. Or all the third and Chavis people. There were a bunch of idiots wanting D. Walker.
Let Miles hire his assistants. The only error was promoting from within. He's not doing that. We have a great staff. Let's see what he can do. Kragthorpe is more accomplished than everyone here on the Rant.

I don't quite consider this a pro
Everbody seems pretty happy with Chavis. Chavis didn't seem too lazy this year to me.

We won a NC though......Ive said this already but I really believe that he's coming in mostly for the development of the QB's...Miles will do some of the playcalling.

i guess you think chavis isn't a good d.c. because he isn't looking for a h.c. job?
