I doubt he will

Matt Luke
Thought he did admirable considering they were on probation.

Don’t let players or recruits decide who your coaching staff is. That’s what got Matt Luke hired at Ole Miss
Exactly, that player could decide to go somewhere else even if we keep him.

This is the quintessential O recruit. I would have a direct discussion with him and then see how it played out but I would be ready to pull his offer.
I before team is a horrible look for this kid.

is is going to completely ruin college football if it keeps trending the direction it is. Every player with a prima donna attitude will just commit where it's most convenient and then be a sellsword to the team that ends up looking the best for their future. I don't like it.
Look I love the hire, however, Kelly just walked out on his team on the birth of a possible playoff spot.
If coaches can do that then players should be able to. It’s sucks. But it should go both ways. If Kelly can do what he truly feels is best for his future then I have no problem with a young kid making that same decision.

I disagree. Players will start committing to coaches because of the transfer portal even more now.

Wouldn't shock me if Davis stays he got a raw deal at LSU and he's actually a good coach.

Duke Riley and the boys in the locker room chanting “KEEP COACH O!!” And Alleva actually did it lol

This is false.
Dellinger and Dumervil were both 4-star highly recruited OL

Again we’ll let the coach decide on that vs. one recruit
No one, not an athletic director, coach, player or anyone is bigger than the program. The kid can here and play for Brian Kelly or he can go elsewhere. LSU will be fine either way.

Kardell Stewart would certainly be considered a blue chip.

Players need to stop committing to coaches
They are the ones recruiting them. That's why it happens. If the school was the one recruiting them maybe this wouldn't happen, but recruits build relationships with people (coaches in this case), not buildings and spaces. The idea that these young men don't connect with the school when they're being sold on the football program is not so far-fetched. The school doesn't contact them and ask about their families and listen to their concerns. Individuals within the sports program of the institutions do. And when those individuals who have invested months talking to these young men and building a bond with them leave, it creates a uncomfortable vacuum for some. Naturally, they'll think about how to re-establish that comfort in the sport by either moving closer to home or some other institution where they felt a connection with a staff member or player. And this happens everywhere.
IMO, Ricks, for instance, is in the portal for the 2nd time because he didn't bond with any of the other players. He's focused soley on himself to do this again for a guy who would be going pro next year.

quote:You dumbasses are killing me. Kelly better be promoting getting NIL deals. If you think LSU gets the cream of the crop with all this dumbass talk many are saying, you're sorely mistaken.
I hope BK sticks to his guns and purges this. Starting with Ricks.
“Forget about NIL deals and worry about covering John Metchie”

Coach gets fired, kid stays committed & recruits & reps LSU despite not knowing who the coach is, and you are going to trash him because he likes the current OL coach?
You stupid fricking boomer. Sit down
