I agree that his negatives outweigh his rah-rah factor.

He may have to consider this job. I don't think he's going to have better options.

It would make no sense for him to abandon the players he cares so much about in the bowl game, then turn around and accept a job with them, so I fully expect it to happen, considering who you're dealing with.

This is what it feels like with SC and Texas. More SC. I'm not sure Texas was holding out for Saban as much as people say. I think the whole Saban thing was media and internet explosion of retardation. But both seem like they're just expecting great coaches to drop whatever they're doing and be so honored to coach these programs..two programs that have definitely dropped off in recent years.

I'm sorry, but he walked out on his players when he didn't get the HC job. No way I would bring him back.

I think that was all internet fluff personally. Not that I've been glued to various media outlets, but I haven't seen jackshit where Saban or his agent ever talked to Texas. Maybe Sexton did a little lobbying (mostly in Bama imo), but nothing like what's being said on here.

eta: If there's an article or something proving contacts were made then feel free to boom the frick out of me

Bad idea for USC IMO. There's so much loyalty to Orgeron from some of the players that he could undermine Sark

Unwritten rule is that if you interview for the HC as a staff member and do not get the gig you are obligated to resign. Now add to that Ed actually was the interim HC, forget about it. NO WAY Sark should even consider Ed on his staff. USC already tried to buy Ed by offering him the highest paid asst coach money. He got mad and resigned. Not sure if he walked with money or not.

I agree, as when O resigned, he more than likely gave up any severance package that mite have been owed to him by USC. So I can see him having second thoughts strictly from an economic sense. As to going back after he feels USC screwed him, I cann't see that proud ..dumb..cajun agreeing to do that now.

He is a bagman and everybody knows it. Sark loses one bagman to NCAA needs another.

Dude your crazy as hell if you think their weren't any talks. I am pretty sure NS didn't talk to Texas, but you can bet your arse his camp did. Hell Texas admitted that much. Saban even let it be known that Texas was the only college job he would consider leaving Bama for. Do you think this got out by accident or was just made up? Hell no this was floated by the NS camp if for no other reason than to squeeze more money from the rednecks.

Honestly asking for proof because I haven't seen it. And what does "floated by the NS camp" even mean? Did they whisper in someone's ear?

So you would piss on UCLA's former home field and where the winner of only Heisman in schools history played?

Brilliant!!

Ucla blows goats. Once the sanctions expire, they'll fade back into the shadow of their hoops program.

Orgeron was Curley Hallman bad at Ole Miss. He had a good bit of nfl talent and went 3-21 in the SEC. He's a terrrrrrrrrible head coach.

Same talent was brought to back to back Cotton bowl wins by Houston fricking Nutt.

I went to Ole Miss during both tenures and Orgeron is the worst X and O head coach I've ever witnessed in major college football.

Great dirty recruiter, but lol at those thinking USC should hire him as head coach.

Asterisk wins, bru-ham. I wouldn't be completely surprised if we upset your powder blue apple cart next season, either. I may make the trip out there for that one! Recruiting season should be fun, stay tuned.
