I’ve always gotten the sense that Kelly felt hamstrung with the talent he could get at ND and has wanted a chance with elite players.

He could believe that LSU will provide a much easier path to a Natty with our recruiting base and more lax admissions standards.

He better prove me wrong, but I think we just sealed the deal of going from trying to overcome Alabama to reach the pinnacle, to being about on the level of A&M with the O/Kelly one-two punch. Better than a total collapse but not real great…

Part of it may be that he wants the challenge to go head to head with Saban every season, and see if he Dan make a name for himself as someone who can beat Saban.

Maybe he feels like the timing is right. If Bama and Saban are really declining he could come to LSU and be a king. I am sure the money is at least 75% of it but the guy definitely aint scared.
